So, what band do you wanna see play in 2005?

For me, i wanna see Death Cab For Cutie... can't see them playing an Irish date anytime soon though. Mainly US date seem to be their priority right now.

EDIT: Just found this on SeeTickets.com.... no Irish dates so holding out for a small Irish gig. Otherwise, very tempted to go to the UK:
DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE Astoria London TUE 28/02/2006 19:00
DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE Astoria London TUE 28/02/2006 19:00
DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE Rock City - Over 14's Only Nottingham THU 02/03/2006 19:00
DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE Manchester University Manchester FRI 03/03/2006 19:30
DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE Northumbria University Newcastle SUN 05/03/2006 19:30
DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE Wedgewood Rooms Portsmouth MON 06/03/2006 20:00

Keep missing the Counting Crows every time they play Ireland - so hope they play another gig.

Also.. saw Green Day in The Ambassador last year and The Point this year. But they never fail to disappoint so if they play Slane, i'll still go. Hope they change their setlist (unlike the Chili's who seemed to play the same setlist for the 3 Irish gigs i saw)

Also - Arcade Fire and Bloc Party would be excellent also!

Glad to see someone else wants to see DCFC playing.

Also Ben Folds would be fantastic!

Not to mention Jimmy Eat World - missed their last Irish date!

hate to say this even though jimmy are good live, i prefer listening to them on CD. they have energy on stage but i don't there's just something not there.

also i'd like to add to my list of people i hope play ireland but in truth there's no way in hell they will.

Anyone at all that I like

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,585 ✭✭✭honru

Anyone I like aswell, but Bauhaus and Depeche Mode are two bands I know who are playing which I'm much looking forward to.

With regards to Death Cab for Cutie, I'd say the chances of an Irish date next year are high. Just hold out until they finalise their European scheduele, nothing definite yet.

Seems possible alright judging by the couple of UK dates they're doing... hopefully an Ambassador gig is on the cards... not a chance of me missing that!

Will keep ye all posted if one is announced!

Add my name to the Radiohead list. Would like to see the Pixies again, but in a smaller venue. And Arcade Fire.

I think they're still on an extended break. Hopefully not for much longer.

Pinback. Number one on my I have to see live list. Number 2 is Depeche Mode and damn Im a happy man today.

Sigur Ros again probably (playing london soon I hear). Rammstein probably for the show. Rob Zombie (preferably White Zombie). Bloodhound Gang again would be amazing.

Id love to see Starlight Mints but I dont see that happening ever. Also Ayreon doing the human equation with a full cast would be amazing but I dont think that happens anywhere let alone Ireland.

After that well If I was gonna be a bit silly .. urm Elvis, The Beatles, The Doors? :-)

don't worry i've got a feeling you'll see a lot more from them, they are the new bloc party or whatever.

agree with alkaline trio and millencolin aswell they'd be sweet gigs.

It would have to be Rammstein. i wish they would play here. they are one of the greatest live acts in the world. i'd also love to see Duran Duran again next year.

In Dudley we put our trust. Rob Crow has just become a father and Zack has just got married so they wont be touring anytime soon but Im hoping for later end of next year. Twice planned... Twice cancelled... I just put faith in the fact Dudley Corporation are so intwined with them and so very want to get them over here that we'll see them eventually.... please.

All that sounds good to me... although I could probably do without Tenacious D, and preferably not at oxygen either.

(and from the GYBE website - "godspeed you black emperor are currently on extended hiatus. the collective has not disbanded", so that's probably unlikely for the timebeing :( )

Now wouldn't that be just dandy.... Some hope though, probably another 5 years before he'll do another show.

I would love to see Radiohead- as they are releasing a new album they should be touring sometime next year
Placebo- likewise with the new album and the touring
Muse- I've heard rumours about a new album and they haven't played here in a few years...
Opeth- I think they're only plaing the UK though
Bauhaus- Hurrah they're definitely playing! Stupid over 18s gig though...
The Dresden Dolls- I can only dream, apparently they only play America and Canadia.

Well since Amanda Palmer has ties to Germany that makes sense I suppose, did they play anywhere else in Europe?
