I think that's what they want isn't it?

    Gaining members from the name.

Boards.ie is a company name isn't it? Would he be allowed do that?

Even so I am surprised hes trying to start a discussion place when most people would just set up a spam shop as I'm sure a lot of people type boardsie instead of boards.ie a lot.

Kind of intresting that they are linking to your attachments on your site though.

Why is that name familiar in the context of boards? /* puzzled

I gotta say, I love his other website: http://www.****.com/

I think, from the two sites, he's proven himself to be a l337 web lord, and we should all just pack it in now before we get even more humiliated.

So is it safe to say that at some stage Mr <snip> managed to get himself banned, prompting a feedback thread complaining about oppression, human rights violations etc, and was told that if he didn't like it, to go start his own version of boards.ie. He probably just didn't realise he wasn't meant to take it that literally.

Then again, judging by **********.com, the less of his own inventivness he uses the better for all concerned.

    .

take the personal info off the net will you.

its one thing to slag the bloke off, its entirely a different thing to start flinging around personal info.

unless you feel like having your details splashed around the place?
    i know i dont.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,478 ✭✭✭GoneShootin

If he didnt want his personal details on the net then he shouldnt have used them when setting up his domain. Those details are available to anyone in 4 easy steps

    1) Enter domain into godaddy.com search
    2) Click search
    3) Click "more info on this domain"
    4) Enter key
unless you feel like having your details splashed around the place?

Is that a threat or a question? Eitherway I don't mind. Work away WWM.

Its not personal, its a matter of public record. I don't know whether to laugh or cry at this muppet. We know him and banned him before. They arent the first to try and set something up (www.afterhours.ie as I recall). We've no problem with that. But there are fine lines between inspiration, slavish copying and impersonation.

I know where you are coming from WWM but I feel nothing but contempt and some pity for this guy. He's passing off as us and anything that makes him more uncomfortable is fine by me, he's breaking about 6 laws too (mostly relating to something called "passing off") but I can't yet be arsed about him. I'm concerned about users from here using the same passwords but other then that its just another flash in the pan site.

yes dev that is a concern (about the passwords) but since its a forum, dont all forums have a facility where even admins cant see the passwords.
Unless he has a way of getting the data from the sql database.

Id feel some worry if i was in your suitation.

Worried? Me.... about an online "fight"? Where have you been for the last 5 years :)

Anyway, the admins here cannot decrypt passwords but thats because we have top software (stop laughing!) and we chose to turn on that feature for security. The question is, have they?

fine, but there is no need for us to broadcast it.

Why not? What harm will it do? It is trivially easy to find it out, if anyone's interested. The only issue I can see is if someone Googles Mr. Naughty they'll find out that he has been naughty - I don't think that that's really a problem...
