Having spent pretty much every bit of spare cash i've had over the years amassing what i think is a pretty solid collection i'm now running out of room. i'm having to be a bit more selective about my album choices (don't want any rubbish such as beanie segal taking up unnecessary space). Can anyone recommend some hot albums that I should pick up???

Ignore him,he's just trying to get attention.;)

I strongly strongly suggests Suns of Man Freedom of Speech, which has been horribly slept on.

The Perceptionists,Cormega and OPIO latest stuff are the best albums I have heard that were released this year.

yea but the vocal minority always out shout the polite majority. See how incident free this thread has been if only the manors here could translate to the rest of the forum.

Try some early def squad stuff redman, erick serman and keith murrey might be something youll like.

Not being funny but if youve not heard 50's power of the doller give it a go trackmasters and 50 where a great combination sounds nothing like his stuff you hear on the radio and it was long before he had thoughts of any of the g unit stuff.

Makaveli.. Found it Really hard to get any MF Doom stuff in Dublin. I hear Freebird but havent made my way down there.. Whats the story with this guy anyway? Is it the same guy as Madlib? Seems to be a lot of music coming from that corner.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 91 ✭✭john^doyle

i only glanced quickly through this topic but i didnt see anyone mention Tech N9ne - that guy is incredible, he has an amazing flow and all the stuff i've heard by him has been superb

    Tech N9ne - Anghellic
    Tech N9ne - Vintage Tech
    Tech N9ne - Absolute Power

can I also say DMX - It's Dark And Hell Is Hot, he's one of those rappers you either love or hate really, I think he's really good so nyeh!

I've seen cds in HMV (Grafton St.) and Tower (Wicklow St.). HMV was of course a rip off for the albums.
Your best bet is to buy online if you can.

No he's not Madlib (Madlib is himself, Quasimoto and half of Jaylib). But Madvillain is MF Doom and Madlib.
MF Doom is King Geedorah, Viktor Vaughn, half of Dangerdoom (with Dangermouse) and he was a member of KMD. I think he is now signed to Rhymesayers (Atmosphere and Brother Ali), I don't think he was signed to Stones Throw (Madlib, Lootpack, Peanut Butter Wolf) but Madvillainy was released on Stones Throw.

    Second this.
Got it yesterday and it's a really solid album. Reminds me quite a bit of Mos Def (before The New Danger).
    Well worth checking out.

Got the new Atmosphere (You Can't Imagine How Much Fun We're Having) too, as Orizio mentioned. If you like Atmosphere stuff you'll like this.

He reminds me of Fifty for some reason. I think it's his flow, it can be a bit similar. Beats are fuçkin' nice on the album, probably my favourite thing about it.
