    Hey,
There is this wee band called the freebooters. Their website is www.thefreebooters.com They play really cool old school gigs where your sure to feel right at home. These people just come out of the walls! I'm tellin' ya! Anyway, they're off to Germany in ten days and I don't think they have any gigs before then, but keep an eye on their website. Oh yeah and despite the bomber jackets and mohawks, green day hoodies seemed more than welcome as it should be (although, I aint a fan... like it matters). yeah so, other than that Im as lost as you.

Some punx hang out at the central bank, but like qz said go to a gig. Like chewing on tinfoil this saturday at the international bar, wicklow street - there will be loads of punx there, including me.

    Haha. Punx.

Is this some kind of minimosherified punk? Good to see it's got its own term.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 175 ✭✭StJimmy

No, it's just how bands like Rancid, Casualties, Green Day spell punks, so i figured why not do it like the real ones

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,851 ✭✭✭PurpleFistMixer

Yes, that is the core punk belief. To copy what other people do. Good work.

I was banned for saying emo shouldn't be allowed on a punk forum. All he/she is doing is expressing a dislike for these people. What's wrong with letting your feelings known? This is like banning for someone for saying "I don't like MCR".

    Well, nearly.

Nah I banned him because I have a personal vendetta against him.

I did give an explanation though, read the mod forum.

Surely the explanation is for the person who got banned, and not just other mods.

Surely I don't care about assholes whose posting career consists of "This sucks" and "Why did you post this crap"

Central bank is Gay you don't wanna hang around there with your wannabe's, it used to be a laugh back in the day but its not anymore. There's loads of Junkies and people are just idiots that hang out there. Stu doesn't hang out there he'd be around at the music centre. the bank Its full of metal heads who think they are depressed they also just get drunk and act like saps.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 6,525 Mod ✭✭✭✭dregin

Who the **** is Stu and what in jesus is the music centre?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,095 ✭✭✭OLP

I think it's the temple bar music center, which is less than a minute from the bank, I've seen the usuall mass of black around there, they probably think they're even more different for not hanging around at the bank.

Yeah it's the Temple Bar Music Centre and Stu is the bassist/vocalist for Chewing On Tinfoil.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 6,525 Mod ✭✭✭✭dregin

That's ****ing wonderful. Could you get someone to hurry up and get their pics onto that website so I can paste his head onto the map in my punx rockers guide to Dublin to mark tbmc clearly?

    tanx

Was up in dublin recently stayin wit some people i know,, anyway , the whole central bank thing puzzles me. they r mostly not so much metalheads or metallers as mini-goths, quasi-metallers and the like. They nearly all seemed to be between about 12 and 15 as well , which means in about 2years most will have given up seeing as for a lot of them it is IMO a phase and for attention and what not (i not actually meaning to berate these kids too much because i suppose they do deserve a chance at a social scene as long as they'e got a bit of respect and dont go messing it up for rest of us) but However, i did run into some actual "proper" punks and there are some "proper" metallers around too. Man the whole metal and punk scenes are getting really messed up IMO way too many people are worryin about what others will think, it used be so much better. Whatever happened to Non conformist principles? Nowadays we all seem to be so focused on conforming to the ideas of "the scene" . Bring Back old punk ideals of just runnin around with a shaved head or a 8inch green mohawk just trashin stuff and writing "boll*cks" or "Anarchy" on everythin in sight.
