Do you guys know if any gyms offer this service?

do you use them? are they worthwhile?

not fully researched but imho they have their place. i like the cold water effect on my CNS it fires it up before a max attempt. and personally i think it breeds mental toughness. sitting there for 30mins in bolloc freezin water makes a man o' you.

certainly reduces inflammatory response and therefore could speed up recovery. mechanisms are worth discussing but i can't type that much. if you're ever in limerick perhaps we could..:) thats not an invitation :D

    is ice necessary?

water pulls heat away from body very effectively.approx 26 times air. theres no need for ice. this time of year the water is very cold. cold enough for the affect you want..

i posted on here before about a problem with my hipfelxor muscle. still havent fully recovered in that after i train my hip stiffens up a bit. i have recently started taking cold baths after training and it works a treat. the hip muslce is hard to ice so the bath is ideal.

other muscles feel great after it too. highly recommended. as for an ice bath. im not that hard! i find it tough to get into a cold bath.
