Read the other threads as this question has been answered before hundreds of times. Sorry

p.s. GENERALLY you can't just drop fat off one area you must work the body as a whole

cardio is the only thing that'll burn fat, weights will hardly burn any, only develop muscle. try running and/or some cardio involving upper body movement like rowing

Sorry brenC can’t agree. A hard weight session will have your body burning calories for hours after you have stopped. Yes it will build muscle, to build this muscle it will need calories and when it is built it will burn more calories even when you’re not training. A mix of both is best. Toning and burning is the way to go…..

FAT distribution is the issue here. cardio would be the answer when overall excess fat is a problem but in this case its primarily on the chest. why does he store it there? why not on his stomach/butt etc? - hormones/genetics.

    Fix:

train the chest with compound movements. (and the rest of your body) these compound movements will have a much better hormone effect than small bodybuikding isolation type movements. remember when a guy is training without steroids he needs to think of this. not just for muscle gain but even more so for fat loss. (hGH, T especially)

most importantly however if you're storing fat in the chest minimising estrogen maximising Testosterone would be good. now i mean naturally. that means get rid of anything estrogenic in your life. food: soy, bread(SOYAFLOUR), BODYFAT in the rest of the body - Fat is not metabolically inactive but will secrete hormones to give you man boobs estrogen especially, fossil fuel pollution(thats why rural spermcounts/1940s spermcounts(t dependant) are up to 3 times higher than urban/modern), don't do steroids(excess T will aromatise to estrogen), train with progressively heavier weights and good form( success in the gym increases T), filter your water, avoid sleep deprevation, avoid chick flick movies, do manly things, plenty of sex also raises t levels..

so in summary live like a man, eat like a man, train like a man, sleep like a cat.

this is a huge quesion. the spot reduction. western literature does not support it. I would love some funding to do a study on it though. imagine the implications! a way to reduce fat from specific areas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so not the case. like PJG said, muscle is an active tissue- it will burn calories just by existing. Fat won't. So a combination of cardio and weights is the trick. That way when you lose the weight, there'll be some fab pecs to show off :p

After doing weights, I can see an outline of my abs, now, there still is a layer of unwanted fat, but I can see potential;)

I suppose I should balace both weights with cardio, as you and others said.
