    One word. Gank looking.

Sorry but I just don't think it's a very nice looking guitar at all.

I don't care. That's my baby! BC Rich USA Custom Shop Stealth 7 String! :D
It has been built to my specifications.

I've not actually got it yet, unfortunately. Those are the dealer pics, but damned if I couldn't help myself.

That your custom? I think it was you who ordered a BC Rich custom wasnt it?

Looks nice, Chuck would be proud.

I may not like it but tis hip that you have your own custom guitar.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,130 ✭✭✭✭Karl Hungus

For those who don't know, it's styled after Chuck Schudliner's guitar:

    Chuck91.jpg

With, of course, a lot of my own touches. ;)

Actually, I think it's one of the better looking BC Riches.....
they make a bass version of that?

Yeah, I know a fellow who has one. The Stealth is a custom shop only model though, so you'd pay quite the pretty penny and be waiting a considerable time for one, mind you. :v:

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,848 ✭✭✭✭Doctor J

It's true... 8 months. But in seriousness, I was quoted a 6 to 8 months build time, so I can't complain.

I'll take it you'll hitch a ride to Galway for the guitar warming service, aye? :D

Good to hear it. We'll have drinks at O'Conners!

The Stealth has DiMarzio Evolution and Air Norton pickups, so it should sound absolutely swish. :v:

Nice, man. Once you plug that beast into the retubed Nomad we'll never hear from you again! (Karl Hungus 0.01 posts per day) :D

I should think so! Still gots to get the tubes though, and I'm a bit iffy about the postal service. At least the Stealth will be coming via UPS.

It needs a black bridge and a graphtech nut.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,130 ✭✭✭✭Karl Hungus

I like the bridge as it is, and that's a proper bone nut, me boyo!

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

    Black!

Hmm... Well, she could morph into anything I would desire. Lets just make sure she's not programmed for killing first though, aye? ;)

But lets get back to the guitar, I think a Graphtech nut would be a good upgrade for a cheaper guitar that has a fairly ****ty nut, but for crying out loud man, not a custom built guitar with a bone nut! That's blasphemous talk right there, and a bit on the looney side. :v:

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

what ho? black strings? enlighten me plweez

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,130 ✭✭✭✭Karl Hungus

I think the ebony fretboard without inlays looks black enough as it is, don't you? I mean, how black can you go before it starts absorbing light?

All going well, I should have my Nomad kitted out with nice high gain tubes, and the Stealth should absolutely scream through that baby when it arrives. Oh yeah, I'm going to make some NOISE!

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Yup, noise cos it sure as hell won't be music :p :v:

Jackson Warrior. It's nothing but a knock-off, as Rick Derringer designed the Stealth shape back in the early 80's, the first models coming out in 82. The Stealth is a far superior shape anyway.

Can't imagine so. My Dean has black strings, and looks fairly swish.

Really? I thought Beecher just photoshopped that....:o

So how come you wanted a hardtail? You don't have the whammy urge?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,848 ✭✭✭✭Doctor J

That guitar looks just fine the way it is... just fine, I say. Let it be.

KH, what's the deal with the R and not BC Rich on the headstock? Is that how they signify it's a custom jobbie or wha?

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

    Hee, a wee beige jobbie

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,592 ✭✭✭Ancient1

I agree, it looks perfect as it is - i like the minimalism - plain but classy.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,896 ✭✭✭fish-head

I think it's just done like that on some models, like the Mockingbird.
    Or maybe it's USA models..

    That is indeed the case.

Yay! Just ordered my TUBES! So my Mesa Boogie should be fully kitted out for when my Stealth arrives. :v: . . . . . . . . . . .

Got enough trem fun on my Ibanez, and other guitars as it is. Besides, I want to be able to tune it differently more easily, you diggidy? ;)

Aye, all the USA riches have just the R logo, but you can ask for the regural BC Rich logo if you wanted. I did actually want that, like Chuck's, but supposedly it won't fit on the 7 string headstock. Doesn't matter really though, not like it's going to affect playability now, is it? :v:
