What a question so many bands so many songs how can you narrow it down.
At the moment my Fav band is
    MEGADETH
Though that will change in the next few going by former bands that were my fav.

has to be orbital...pioneers in thier own right, still going strong..constantly great music for 10 years, the BEST live act(i've seen)
Radiohead were, but they have been stagnant for so long now,the realease of the new one shall be something special i'd imagine

Orbital. What Acetate said and a bag of chips.

One of the greatest live acts in the business. Kicking choons and a sense of humour (you gotta love that Belinda Carlisle remix with Bon Jovi).

Mostly listening to really heavy stuff ATM - Slipknot, System of a Down, Machine Head, Therapy? (their gig 6-7 weeks back in the Olympia R0><><0R3D!!!) etc...

Love: Manics, Pumkins, Ash (brilliant live), Reef (also brilliant live), U2, Beasties, Foos, Nirvana, Metalica, and the list goes on...

There's a hell of a lot of good music out there - it's too hard to pick a favourite, but generally something with heavy, loud guitar rings my bell smile.gif

    All the best,

Kharn - you're closest to my kind of music. My favourite band at the moment is Weezer (see previous post). Excelsior, if you ever mention Dave Matthews Band again, I'll put your head through the wall. Most family loves them, especially the brother in america where they are very popular for some reason, but i think their only good songs were Twostep, and maybe The Best of whats around. there is no tune to their songs!! Counting Crows is a tough call, but you have redeemed yourself in my opinion with REM and Radiohead smile.gif

Of course! I completely forgot about REM, Radiohead and Counting Crows!!

I still love my heavy stuff though smile.gif

Listening to Ash on MP3 ATM - Yes I have the album! wink.gif

Chemical brothers = 'HOT DAMN!' on the funk scale (v6.5)

Flaming Lips = 'WHOA MOMMA!' on the cool scale (v1.0)

Therapy? = 'Damn I just came' on the groove scale (this one doesnt have a version because I made it up)

Speaking of Therapy, Anyone know what happened to them? I used to listen to them alot when I was a kid and could not get tickets for the gig a few months back. I have been lookig for new albums and sh!t but to no avail I am afraid.

You missed out on a sensational gig m8. It quite simply rocked!

The latest album is called "Suicide Pact - You First" (cool name, innit?) and is available from all shops. Try looking in the Rock section and not the Boy Bands tongue.gif

Well if you define favourite as the most listened to over my entire life then it'd be U2. But basically the only thing my favourite bands have in common is a good bass line and that they're non-manfuctured bands.

Except the odd Spice girls track and 5ive's seminal classic "Get on up"

Illkillya , Dave Mathews Band are quite posibly the best, most original sounding group I have heard in a very long time.

As for my fav band it would be a toss up between The Counting Crows and DMB.

Most people have a 'fav band of the moment' rather than of all time.

I'd have to say Gomez and REM at the moment.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 793 ✭✭✭Kegser

Why have the Spice Girls been overlooked? Oh well.

My favourite bands at the moments would have to be; Sevendust, Slipknot, and Pennywise.

I also like almost any other rock/punk/metal band you can mention wink.gif

    Kegs.

aimee mann can be gotten at any good dublin store.
however, her new album, bachelor no.2 is only curently available on aimeemann.com
the soundtrack to magnolia is her's too.
she is the best though isn't she?
just superb music. if you like her, buy the new fiona apple cd, which is produced by john brion and rocking suitably too.
