Hi guys, I'm not really into bodybuilding as such but want to ask the more serious lifters what they think of Ronnies 7 in a row (Mr Olympias), his size is amazing I assume he is on steroids??

Ronnie started out as a powerlifter and also worked as a cop. I think he's still a reserve cop but only works two weeks a year now to keep his salary.

He's also one of the most dedicated men in bodybuilding history. His nutritionist Chad Nicholls said he's the easiest athlete he's ever trained because he'll do exactly what you tell him without deviation.

The mans a machine. I'd recommend watching "Ronnie Coleman: The Unbelievable" great DVD about his contest prep for the Olympia.

"Ronne Coleman: Cost of Redemption" is his most recent DVD but certainly isn't as good as the first one.

Whether he'll be beaten or not next year is yet to be seen, Jay Cutler is a crowd favourite but just doesn't seem to have the mass or the ability to dial in properly. Dennis James and Victor Martinez are definately up and coming contenders though and of course Marcus Ruhl who many believe should already have the title or at least a #2 spot.

If you're interested in talking to pros alot of them post on Chad Nicholls boards.

Jay does not have what it takes. Markus deserves better than 5th. Don't think anyone can beat Ronnie although his protein sources are a bit sub standard...

Yeah ronnie's the man, could be the first person to get 9 alltogether and beat Haney's record.

As for the steroids, as far as I know the i.f.b.b. isn't a testing organisation, so i guess the guys can take whatever they want.

guvnor: what was the thing about his protein sources?

He does not drink any whey isolate shakes and gets most of his protein from lowly chicken.

so you're saying that because he eats chicken and does not spend 1000's of dollars a year on rip off supplements that he is not worthy to be mr.olympia?

That's ridiculous!!! In my opinion 'lowly' chicken and steak are the two best sources of protein, not some disgusting protein shake that costs about 60 euro for a few servings

Steroids, no doubt! Ronnie was awesome this year. He was just simply huge. Markus 5th he is lucky that he got it! Jay is a crowd fav, he is also huge but no good enough.

As for Protein I would say he must go through about at LEAST 750g's of protein a day and he does not pay for most of his supplements as he is a walking talking advertisment for Mr Joe Weider.

Well the best source of Protein would be Tuna, Turkey, Eggs etc and the 60€ shake is what makes the diffrence between a skinny rake and a fairly well built man. Plus the Optimum Nutrition Shakes taste damn good! And just by eating Protein you would never be able to make up the protein needed to get some good size!

Well anyway this is just my opinion on the subject.

BTW Logic those DVD's are damn good!!
