Great Players in Football Manager 2005

Apologies if this steps on the toes of the good players sticky thread..
but has anyone found any gems in FM05 specifically?

CM4 had Robinho,Tevez,Cavenaghi etc. They're still in FM05 but are much better known and get signed quickly.

Has anyone found any wonderkids??

Steven Reid aint bad either. If you're looking for a centre half for a season or 2, you'll get Montero or Oliseh for £600-650k.

If you need a right or left winger Daniel Bierofka of Leverkusen is your man. I got him for £375k and he plays a part in the majority of the goals.

Chevar Yankov - one of the Sofia Teams in Bulgaria - Could have wp problem
Mido is excellent in the game if you can ever get him to settle - took 3 years for him to settle in Berlin in my game .

Agree with Eirebhoy - Bierofta is fantastic for his price

He's a moany c*nt though, Petrov is better for the AMC position so even if I try to play Yakin in CM he moans. He has missed a good few training sessions for me already. Hasn't been doing much scoring or assisting-wise either.

I picked up Jimmy Bullard from wigan - he isnt maybe in the same class of player as has been mentioned already, but he is a very handy substitute to have. Scored a good few goals for me.

Also on the subject of whinging players, JFH (i manage boro of coures ) is incredibly sulky - he has missed maybe 10 or more sessions in 6 months and has lost confidence in me. Well, that sucks because im 2nd in the table and in the qtr finals of the uefa cup - he has also scored 25 goals so far - so why is he so unhappy? strange one.

He's missed training for me twice but both times accepted a warning, he's playing very well in an AMC position for me (as Villa) has one of the top ten avg ratings in the League!.

I'm Joint 1st with Villa after playing 10 games, W8 D1 L1

Daniel Bierofka - 400k. Don't let the low price put you off, he's as good as most wingers in the game.

He's swedish but I can't remember which team he starts with.
While he's 30, You can get him for about 1-2m and he bangs in the goals for me.
Also does ok if you're stuck for an AM.

He falls out of favor with Benitez due to Rafa's retarded formation he likes to pla.y. got him for 2.1m in the offseason, and 5 games into 2nd season (his first with me) he's got 6 goals in 8 appearances.

Not bad for a team who were sooo bad at finishing first season!

Got Drogba (4.8m) and Bellamy (2.2,) in the offseason too, goal machine Charlton this season!

sometimes if you appeal you'll get them. Else use the first option for 3 years or whatever... That should give them time to get some caps

On my 27th game with Nottingham Forest, doing a little better than Forest in real life As for some recommendations on Championship league players, these guys are the cream of the crop in the Championship, probably won't be as effective in the Premier League (with the exception of Reid) . . .

Andy Reid AML, super player, very busy on the left wing, has scored 5 goals in about 25 games but has created many more assists. Wants to leave now though

Dani AMC, snapped him up for free at the start of the game, didn't expect much but he's turned out to be some player! Along with Reid they both get great ratings every game, he's now worth £2.2 million as well

M. Dawson DC, England Under-21, has the makings of being a great defender, his value has gone up a million since the start of the season.

Frank de Boer DC/SW, Another free signing you can get at the start of the season. He's 34 but still a very solid performer.

One turkey who you must avoid at all costs though is Eugen Bopp, has decent stats but performs awfully despite the best efforts of the team.

I know he didn't exactly set the Premiership on fire last season, but you can get Hernan Crespo for about 4.5m from Chelsea (on loan at AC Milan), scored about 30 goals in 20 odd games and got the golden boot

If you wait a season, you can snap him up on a free transfer.

Vonlathen is deadly and so is jermiane pennant and u can get duff on the cheap at christmas in first season! i got him for like 6 million and rise is by far the best left back in the premiership in football manager

In the first season,if you wait till xmas you can pick up Sammy Kuffour for 1mil or less and hes a decent centre half to have

Kompany will set you back 5.75 mil but hes a great prospect

Cavegahi is a legend of a striker,and with workrate 19,Teamwork 18 ans strenght 16 hes perfect for the premiership..also hes half italian so no worries about a work permit

Flavien Belson - MR - Bags of talent and with a bit of training Becomes Worldclass from Metz.
Abdel Karim El Mourabet - DC - Ends up better than Hyypia after a couple of years from Feyenoord, can get him free after second season if you want to wait.
Georginio Boateng - AM/FC - Better than Adu from Nantes.

Got him for 450k, after ONE season with Villa, there's 4 clubs offering £16,000,000 for him! [Valued at just under £10m] Gonna try and push one of them to £20m, I think Chelski can stretch that far!

Cant believe nobody has mentioned these two strikers, both become legends, one is cheap from litex in bulgaria, Anatoli Todorov you get his work permit the second time around, the other is Gianpaolo Pazzini from a club in italy but u have to fork out a bit for him,

both well worth it let me know how you get on

if youre starting off in the second division or lower, try and get Carlos Edwards- he's a Trinidad and Tobago right winger- pretty cheap too

he's been a mainstay on the right for my MK Dons team all the way from League Two to the Premiership- still playing amazingly!

Yeah Bierofka is class alright. Decided to play as Man Utd (not sure why - just felt like a change) so i bought him anyway. Also picked up Duff for 9 million from chelsea (a steal!) so now there is plenty of competition for Giggs - Hard to know which one to play as they all get consistent ratings of around 8-10 every game they play.

if you are able to fork out for vincente or joaquin you should they are the best spainish players i have ever seen also there are alot of brilliant players floating around eastern european countries and it is worthwhile searching for them. ohh maxi lopez is brilliant, he isnt that great at the start but i bought him in the second season and he is poundin in goals for me and for the laugh buy Tim Lovejoy he is on the soccer am badgers team *legend*

Elliot Paschalis, Kettering town, conference north. Absolute legend and dirt cheap, you can get him for about 100k, value goes up to about 4-5 million if he moves to premiership.
