Despite the fact that I was extremely sick at the time, Prodigy a few years ago at Witnness were deadly. I'm only hoping the new stuff sounds better live, I'm really not big on the new album.

Are you are talking about the witnness gig about 2 years ago?

I'm sorry but that was the worst performance i have seen of any band ever... for a start they turn up 45 mins late.. play for 30 mins and fcuk off again...

Thats bad form in my book.

I've seen the prodigy on countless occassions over the years in ireland at all the new years gigs at the point and then some of their later '96 and '97 shows and they were fantastic every time.

The witnness gig was p1ss poor and put me off the 'new' prodigy. hopefully they can redeem themselves...

    Excellent.

As for the new album...I like it...well more than Fat of the Land anyway...obviously nowhere near as good as the first two but I don't think they can ever top them.

emmm ? They played for over an hour. It was a terrific performance and I wasnt even into Prodigy at the time but was converted when I saw them live, absolutely everyone I have ever talked about that gig to said it was brilliant. Ive never heard a bad word about it until now !

Agreed with tusky, the witness gig was brilliant. The mud fight that day was mad as well. Green day stole the show in my book tho.

were you two smoking something that night? Or really blind drunk... A lot of the people i went with, who were all prodigy fans and i even heard some of the people standing around me stating that it was a very poor show...

They were fighting among themselves at the time in the band and there was zero chemistry between them on stage...

    I have my tickets, can't wait :D

I thought the Witnness gig was deadly, I heard no one complain about it (and yes, all my friends are prodigy fans too).

Eh.. blind drunk.. but got a great buzz off the whole atmosphere of the gig. How is there ever any chemistry between liam howlett and keith/maxim, liam keeps to himself and hides behind his stack of keyboards. The chemistry between keith and keeti is of little interest to me anyway. Wish keith would shag off. Maxim on his own would be cool. Maybe if keith just ran around insanely and stayed quiet like the old days, that would also be good.

Anyway.. people going in december.. be sure to get there early to give Leroy a good reception for his set. Cant wait to start a "leroy leroy leroy" chant. The lanky one deserves rapturous (sp) reception!

On another note. I have a spare ticket as my bro cant go. I'll post again in the FS tickets board.

I don´t like the last album of the prodigy at all. The steam seems to be gone. Wanna listen to a new version of "Firestarter" go to:

    www.genesimmons.com

Yes, the old KISS - blood spilling, fire spitting monster has a new soloalbum out called: ***hole and the cover version is the first single.

No offense to the real thing - but once you listened to Simmons singing it - Prodigys version is just worthless :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,835 ✭✭✭karlh

you HAVE to see the video for it. i nearly cried. the man has lost the plot completely.

if you want a cover version go no further than Shatner and Common People :)

Its supposed to be a dj set like thing. Playing stuff from the new album but kinda mixing it up a bit, so the songs may not be instantly recognisable. That's why it's going on late, 'cos its more of a dj thing in a club than a band in a venue. Sud be a great 'un still!

I'm going to the gig on Sat 11th Dec

I have 2 tickets in the upstairs section 'Circle' and I'm looking to swap them for 2 tickets in the upstairs section 'Upper Circle'

The only reason I want to swap is because all my friends are in the 'Upper Circle' Section ;)

I'd really appreciate it if anybody can help me out.

The 12th is the last gig of their tour so that's why I picked that date....didn't realise about the late set on the 11th....damnit!

Ill put my two cents in about the Witnness gig. It stank! Maxim was doing terrible mcing throughout with no interest at all. He sat down on the stage for christ sake for one song.. mcing throughout with no interest. Im sure if you were pissed out of your mind and thought mud fights "were mad buzz" youd be entertained by such a piss poor performance but for the rest of us it was horrible. oh yeh and the sound stunk!
I saw them a few months later that year in Reading and they were a 100 times better so I have hope for this Saturday.

Are Keith and Maxim still going to be involved? I dont like the idea that its going to be a dj set. Id like to see the old Prodigy style one last time. I wouldnt mind if its only for an hour or so and then has a dj set for the rest (the one oclock thing sounds excellent!). Im going to see if I can dig up reviews of this tour online.

    Edit: our sources say yes.

Did you think it was loud, both me and my mate thought that it could have been a lot louder. I thought the mix wasn't the best (could barely hear a lot of the vocal samples) but holy ****, THEY PLAYED OUT OF SPACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excuse me? I assume you went on the Sunday because they definetly didnt do that on the Saturday. Also it was deafingly loud which made everything harder to hear.

Dear god, twas unreal! Went on sunday night, thought they wouldnt come on til about 11 (i heard that was the case saturday night) We were in the bar of the olympia when we heard maxim scream, legged it out and raved solid for 2 hours (i think!) So deaf and so drenched in sweat afterwards. Legendary performance, bring on oxygen 2005. They've signed up to that too i hear!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,892 ✭✭✭Kersh
