You know I hear the pro-bush harp on about how great he is.

So can you please list off anything in the last four years he has done that has improved the US or the worlds way of life.

And I don't mean "get tough on terrorism" or "Invaded Iraq to remove Saddam". Something that was actually put into law.

    Say something nice about Bush.

    He will die

He is the result of a lot of jobs being relocated to India (they could use the money)

He's causing the dollar to become weak, making the Euro strong

Say what you want about him, he is single-minded and stubborn, if wants to do something he will.

He united (most of) Europe against him, I bet you that was what clinched it in the constitution talks :D

Thinks that are nice about Bush .... well, these might not be "nice" in a 'good for the US' kind of way, but more in a 'for the good of the planet' way.

Well, he's giving the EU (and most of the rest of the world) the incentive it requires to break free of reliance on the US after so many years of the Cold War and after.

He's going to fubar the US economy so bad that it'll be practically bankrupt (if not outright), thus ending the reign of the super-powers and perhaps re-dressing the world power balance somewhat.

He's doing such a fine job of trouncing human rights and democracy that the masses will start looking towards the EU for those qualities.

He's handing the Democrats a guaruanteed victory in 2008 and with the mess that he's going to create, the word "conservative" or "republican" will replace the word "liberal" as the new pariah word in the US.

And he does a damn fine chimp impersonation.

At most, he has only 4 years left. Unless he dies, or someone assassinates him.

    We can live in hope.

Nutkase wins the most sane comment award. I was looking more of what he has done to the US law wise.

For example, had he not made a pigs ear of it then "No Child Left Behind" plan might of been listed.

He singlehandedly undid all the good marketing the Segway had enjoyed - this is a great thing for America and Americans, the Segway is an over-priced, fat-inducing gadget that would be dangerous on any city's streets.

He alerted countless millions to the danger of eating pretzels alone and without supervision.

He has helped re-invigorate American politics. I know this is also a bad thing, making it more partisan, but boosting voter turnout and encouraging discussion and participation is a good thing in my book.

He helped arouse interest in US politics for a lot of people (though admittedly he did that by being a really bad president, but the point stands)

He lauched the no child left behind act which was supported by Teddy Kennedy of all people, he gave billions of dollars to help aids finding in Africa, he simulated the economy and hellp get out of recession despite 9/11. He gave funding to look into alternative ways of using fuel,he singley handely launched a new industry within publishing of anti-bush book, think of the millions made out of that economy and as said above he made people take an interst in polictics. These are of the top of my head, I could look it up and finds tons more, see he is not that bad a person

Why the hell would you run as vice-president if you had no interest in being the president?

I apologise to all for going off-topic, but in answer to that ....

He's a day in office and he's already looking for $54bn for this fiscal year to further his "war on terror". I don't think I need to point out where this line of thinking is going.

Perhaps not, but in the case of death\incapacity\25, Cheney would be next in line, and thus automatically President.

Guys laugh if you will, but please stop posting comments like that. You might not think anything of it but all you need is one a'hole to report you to the secret service (or the fine upstanding secret service to read this page) and they are required by law to investigate the matter even if you are meaning it in jest.

Having the secret service turn up at your place of work or school with a Garda in tow is never a great thing to have.

Also try to get the thread on topic. I was relating to policies that Bush may of made that are a positive. I don't know of any, I was kind of hoping the "Pro-Bush" camp would post some.

It took a lot of rummaging around but I managed to find another one (and an enviromental one to boot  )

Apparently he signed a law some time back in 'aught two to give grants to states to clean up polluted industrial sites.

    Agreed.

I would also point out that we generally take a dim view of people encouraging or supporting illegal activity on this forum.

Whether or not you see anything wrong with it, accept that the Seekrit Service could just as easily come knocking on boards.ie doors as on yours because we allow your sentiments to remain here.

It might be a slim chance, but I'm not willing to risk having this site get into legal trouble over the ill-considered musings of some posters.
