what're the rules regarding rep points anyway?
like... is it acceptable to leave bad rep in return for bad rep but not related to anything the person posted?
it just seems kinda childish and i got something that was the equivalent of "**** you for giving me bad rep". no idea what i said to them...

Afaik the only rule is you are not allowed write abusive comments ie. "dickhead".
Your also not allowed impersonate people, but that can't happen anymore.

If someone gives you rep you can't give it them back , good or bad, for until you spread it around to other people.

Everytime you give someone reputation, they get reputation points (which you can see in you usercp) When they get over 100 points they get an extra green square. Hover your mouse over the green dot and it'll give you a small tag for that person "Will become famous soon enough" for example. The whole point of the system is to amuse certain higher powers.

Someone with neg rep can't give rep to others, comes up grey. Ditto for people with only a few posts and low rep. Higher posts and/or rep lets you give rep, and the more of either you have, the more rep you give/take away.

The way i see it.. Its not like Im using the old ones.. They are pretty much dead bar any modding needs doing.....

..and to be quite honest I am enjoying the certain "unshackledness" and freedom that having a new account brings...
Started out as a rep thing but now the sense of freedom has over taken the rep thing.
