Just go up yourself they will give you a guided tour....25meter swimming pool which is the only reason i joined cause all i do is lengths etc.but there is weights on either side of pool for men and women, plus loads of threadmills with tfts so you can watch tv while walking, well actually most machines have tfts but you have to bring your own earphone or buy the for 15euro.the membership is for 16months at 595euro.you get a card with your face scanned on it so no one else can use it.On joining you get a sports bag, locks and keys for your locker plus a sweat towel...

They have a studio upstairs and two big Jacquzzi's at end of pool.there is a snack bar as you go in and its on a trust thing were you pick what you want but no one there to collect money you have to put it in a slot, but they have signs up saying CCTV hehe....the showers are great, they supply you with shower gel and shampoo in the showers also...there is ample parking.

When i joined they said it was going to be capped at 5000 members but i know thats BullS***E.The pool is laned for general swimming and swimmers. They have ample weight machines and machines to do anypart of muscle on your body....

But as i said take a guided tour yourself.....probably see you up there....we will be like a masons group, will give you the secret Boards nod and hand shake hehe.,....

Well I went up. Its not too bad. All the cardio (170 pieces) are facing on to three sides of the swimming pool.

The weights area is a little bit too small, I would say. That said, there's loads and loads of free weights and a good few machines(100 of both combined).

I think I'll stick with Jackie Skelly's though, unless they bring the price down significantly.

Is 595 just a joining fee or will it cost me 595 for the 16 Months.

I.e I dont have to pay every month by dd....

Where is kimmage is it near rathmines ??

    Not a Dub ;)

595 is for the 16months,you get a card with your face on it and just swipe yourself in no extra money involved.....Its near KCR if you know that or lets say your going towards Harolds Cross,as you approach park stay to the left going towards Mount Argus church and go straight up till you go past two garages and then you will becoming near a main junction so take a right at the junction and its on the right down road abit....

They have it listed as Kimmage Rd West, Terenure.

I hate when people do that, call where they live/are by a neighbouring more upmarket district.

    Sounds exactly like Westpoint

well when they had an offer up in August to say it was opening in October the 5th,it was only 450 for 16months and they had a phone number on a begging board outside the grounds up in kimmage/terenure.It was built on an old Cricket grounds and the cricket club is listed as kimmage(who cares).but the phone number i rang was Westpoint in blanchardstown,so i guess they are same company..

I care, see my previous post. ;)

yeah i seen your post but what has it got to do with using the gym....because they say its in terenure it might be priced higher rather than being in kimmage. Its a very nice place in my opinion and there is nothing like it around that immediate area.i used to goto crumlin baths beside crumlin shopping centre and its like going from a mini to a ferrari.....plus im saving money(for the moment)going to this gym,i know probably when membership is up that the price is going to go up,but will face that when it comes....

went for a look myself last week..

Very impressive I must say but its fairly pricey and the fact that its an
upfront payment and there isnt a DD option will put a lot of people off as
nearly €600 on the run up to xmas is a bit too much for some people..

All in all, the pool is class, there are plenty of machines and the LCD tvs on
each are a big plus to help get over the boredom of working out.. very plush
locker rooms with plenty of lockers and space and nice showers.

There are lots of free weights but I did think they were crammed in a little too
    closely together...

However all in all I would definitely consider joining as its only about 5 mins
from my place and its got a decent pool.

Now just have to wait and see how much the insurance company is gonna
rip me off for my car insurance which is up next month and then Ill treat
    myself for xmas

    Tox

Aside from the priceless ads, I joined early and got it for 16 months for 495.

When I joined, they made me sign a form saying that I understood that next year it will be 600 for the year.

That's not quite 36 a month now is it !!

It's a sweet gym, but of course will get more expensive ext year once we've all been lured in by lord ben of fittness acclaim.
Incidently, I saw him up there a few times, and I suspect he hasn't been on the treadmills yet himself :)

    DMG.
