After an extended absence from here due to a lot of moving back home resulting in no net access for the last 9 or so months, I'm back. This might seem like a wasteful topic but I figured it would be only courteous to actually say I'm back before I actually post anything. Especially considering I've been out of the loop so long.

Sorry, I'm gonna have to go with StevenK on this one, who are you. What loop are you talking about and why should anyone care?

This has been a public service announcement from your "Friendly" moderator.

It would appear that he no longer has the Uber-ness that we all remember.

Yes sorry about that I should have made it clearer and not implied some kind of consipracy using the word loop. I was in game soc and what I meant by loop was that I havent actually been in the college really since last march because I spent all my time out in the hanger (I did that terrible avionics course) so I don't know any of the "current affairs" or whatever synonym you would like to slot in there. I'm not as uber as I was but I'm just as naked.

Ciaran, I'm suprised, I would have thought you'd recognise one of your fellow compsoc members :)

It was meant to be a vague sarcasm commonly referred to as wit.

My apologies for not picking up on it, I recently found a place that sells Japanese rice wine and haven't really been of the same mental capacity since. I sentence myself to one week of MASH re-runs.

never had sake actually, I must try it sometime. I'll never drink a full bottle though o.0

Heard its supposed to be strong stuff. I wonder if that Sake bar in Dublin lets you bring bottles home.

there's an asian market off georges st, near the arcade that sells sake. I don't think it's *that* strong, it's just wine.. i think it's meant to be pretty easy to drink though

Another newish, Asian market on Luas line, tis just off Capel street [on way to jervis], and a Sake bar just off Georges street, opposite[ish] Sosume, other side of street, just before Dunnes stores etc [it's about 2 shops in, and called "Sake Bar" I believe]

Saké is actually quite nice though until recently I've only been able to get it in the UK. The Extreme Channel brought out a dubious looking but surprisingly nice brand of it called Wokka Saké which I like. It can range from weak alcohol content to rivalling a good vodka. Though it's much nicer to drink and easier to store because it's not supposed to be chilled.

erm.. maybe in the lemongrass asian restaraunt, at the entrance to pennys? i'd imagine you'd have to go in for a meal though, not just walk in and ask for a bottle of sake

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,984 ✭✭✭NakedDex

I'll bring down a bottle next time.
