    If you look in your user control panel, it'll show the last 5 or so reputation points received and your total reputation.

    bah, i've only got 4. One bad, two good and one indeferent.

    But back to the point in hand netsoc. I'm working on a php tutorial for netsoc, just the basics and stuff. If anyone would like to tackle another topic it would be cool.
    Just a basic introduction and a guide to doing the most common tasks. An asp one would be appricated.

    At least Netsoc has the right ethics and actually will help people in their understanding of Networking, OS'es and Computing in general.
    So kudos to SOS and s4dd.
    The Compsoc society should be renamed to the "Gaming Society" as we have actually very little to do with "computing" :rolleyes:

    As playing games with the PC's are against some rule, its called compsoc, me thinks.

    exactly, its the only legit way to play games on the machines in the college, but if you need any computer related help, we're always ready to help

    Its amusing how people bitch about how Compsoc doesnt help people out, when the only people who ask for help want to play games. I gave alot of help to people in 2002/2003 learning VB and Ruaidhri and myself also helped out some mature students who were trying to figure out some networking stuff... well ruaidhri helped, I just stood there nodding my head every few minutes...

    yup, all seems in order.. what's the problem?

    Also, you realise that the web portal only provides a means of connecting to the server when an irc client is not available, right?

    ALSO, come on lads! we need bums on seats in the tutorials. If we don't have people attending how are we gonna build up a tech head community? Yesterday was intro to php part 2(ish).. next week possibly going to be a continuation.. I urge as many of you as possible to attend! (i'm looking at you ivan!)

    You can connect to chat using irssi (i.e. login to shell account and type 'chat'), or using cgi::irc, or can use mirc/chatzilla/random other chat client -- I have not locked it down, as have not seen a need for it yet.
    Public room == #ITCarlow
    server = irc.netsoc.itcarlow.ie

    If something is blocking the popup, it is more than likely the browser.

    By the way, if anyone is having problems with their logins - just give me email, or shout on site, or contact me in any way.

    As Paul said, come along to a tutorial -- see if what we do interests you, if your not a member, it isn't a problem for a tutorial or two -- we can give you temp account, and you can decide after a week if your unsure...

    I can't stress enough, we're here to provide services, for students, lectuers, societies, clubs - anyone at all involved in the college, we're prepared to go out of our way to help anyone who wants a service [computer related ofc ;)].

    Well, not wishing to 'advertise' further, I'll leave it at that - feel free to contact me however if any other queries.

    P.s.
    I'd ask that any queries in regards to Netsoc be posted/asked on the netsoc forums -- as I'll be checking there more regularly, and I can resolve the issue a lot quicker.

    Thank you
