was shown this on another forum, it's a plugin for winamp that sends a list of the songs you've listened to to their website and compiles a list of what you listen to, etc etc..
it also reccomends other bands/users based on your top artists/songs.

http://www.audioscrobbler.com/user/MordlikeaFox/ is mine, i think it's great because now I know (somewhat) what I listen to more than anything else..honestly, I didn't think it would be incubus.. but i suppose it's only been a day or two.

    http://www.audioscrobbler.com/group/Boards%2Bdot%2Beye%2Bee

    i created a group for boards.ie :) join up!

I've a lot of listening to do to catch up!

Easiest way to find the boards.ie group is to log in, go Mord's profile and select groups.....

Mord put the group in the wrong category, in his infinite wisdom :p

Some dodgy sh1te there like Korn, Evanescence, Natasha Bedingfield, and PJ And Duncan!
    :p

But you two guys have some good taste too, like Tool, Grandaddy, Flaming Lips, and Nirvana.

Audioscrobbler is great to check. You'd be surprised to see what you've been listening to most sometimes.

    Yes it is quite good.

Edit: Dang, just noticed I lost about 400 songs because they were queued in the cache and I hadn't logged on the 'net for a week or so... got wiped as "Spam prevention" or some shvit. Let that be a lesson to the rest of you :x

    Mise! http://www.audioscrobbler.com/user/kieranoneill/
Myself, Dave and Pie seem to have made up the top 10 place pretty much.
I haven't updated mine in a month because audioscrobbler on this pc was gone and when i tried to earlier I also got the Spam Protection dealy, Hope of the States would of been top of that list otherwise! :)

Note to Pie, lay off the Cat Power

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,538 ✭✭✭PiE

    Never!

Well, I have. Most of that Cat Power/Lluther stuff was played over the lazy summer days.

    Still rocks though!

That's why all that mariah carey and chingy stuff is in there too, and I can't be arsed resetting it.

kudos on the lemon jelly! im playing loads of them at the moment as well but my winamp plugin doesn't recognise some songs for some reason....

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 23,556 ✭✭✭✭Sir Digby Chicken Caesar

if the mp3s don't have an id3 tag they won't get sent..

i'm listening toa load of mp3s off cd atm, live grateful dead stuff and other 60/70's bands but they're not id3'd so they won't be sent to audioscrobbler

I know you're taking the p*ss, but for anyone else thinking the same... don't. Defeats the entire purpose.

Rip the CD to Mp3 Mord?

Just in case you think I'm not. My unusual ratio of Belle & Sebastian to other artists is normal. I'm not leaving it on while out.

I'm sure they'll work their way up the chart of their own accord.

The weekly chart is good to look at too: http://www.audioscrobbler.com/charts/weeklytrackchart.php

Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out,
Modest Mouse - Float On, and
The Postal Service - Such Great Heights
    are *always* up very high.

This week's chart is almost all made up of songs off the new Greenday, Rammstein and Interpol albums.

They have overall artist and track charts too.

Is anybody else having problems with this at the moment?
The site is down and everytime a song finishes and a new one starts winamp crashes. It's happened about five or six times now.

    Plugin version 1.1.7
Is 1.1.8 good or is it buggy?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 458 ✭✭shurl

Is that Last.fm thingy working for anyone?
I keep getting time out errors with Winamp and Cannot connect errors with WM10. ?
