Hey People! My first post! Wahoo! :) Anyway, enuf gibbering idiocy! Here's my eternal dilema! Recently i have just began a new job, where i work 4 x 12 hour shifts each week. It's a killer. :(

I like to keep in the best shape as possible, but am finding it harder than ever to so at the moment with my new job. Luckily tho, where i work has it's very own gym for the night workers. And i have decided to start using it.

Is it healthy to use the gym from 3am to 6am? It does'nt feel like it! But the thing i'm having the most trouble with is my diet. Is there anyone out there that works night shifts and actually has a heathy diet?

If so, i'd love to know your secret! :) Like when to eat to certain meals, what to eat and when to sleep etc. Thanks iin advance -gav

Really hard mate. You are probably not getting as much sleep as you should be atm. In time training whenever we feel more natural. As for diet, just try and be disciplined. Not easy but you can and will find a regime that works.

Get another job. I used to work 12 X 4 shifts, it kills you slowly and you can feel it which is even worse. I managed to cope for about 2 years but no more.

Yeah, I worked nights for a year, about the same hours. It eventually starts to tear your life apart. The most healthy thing to do would be to make sure this job is temporary!
