God thank god im a boy since most girls get like 50 million times more

homework than us boys(usually anyway). School is as exciting as usual. And

5th year is not too much fun....too much homework although, its actually not

much but much more than im used to.

School sucks monkey cock as per usual! I got a s***eload of homework for the first few days and I have a new maths/Science teacher who is a total spa. My geography teacher has stopped hating me though which is good.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 367 ✭✭Shiney

OMG do i hate school teachers are piling on the home work cause we have the Junior Cert this year. i got a freakin 9 page essay to do on The Merchant of Venice, the biggest load of rubbish ever, theres a new principal who is the worst pain ever she's taken rules that we never even knew existed(cause my old principal couldnt bother)and enforced them-the whole school are probably planning a rebellion.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,440 ✭✭✭✭Piste

The best thing is watching all the little first years running to class as soon as the bell rings while me and my friends are like 'What class are we supposed to be in now? English? Oh thats ok we've got 10 mins he wont notice we're gone anyway'

The first years this year think they're so hot its ri-goddamn-diculous!

last year the first years thought they owned the school and one in particular kept on rugby tackling me in the corridor(they had no concept of the tradition of 2nd years pickin on them) and then nearly cried when i kicked her 'by accident'. and they were so god damn accident prone i think everyone of them broke some bone at least once if not twice

this year they're so small and quiet and spend most of their time wandering round the corridors cause they cant find their class room

Oh yeah, I remember the junior cert. It's a load of crap. Don't worry and don't take it seriously. It means nothing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,440 ✭✭✭✭Piste

This year they're just plain small. It so strange! Like, my year is pretty small but with the first years its like 'hello? Where are you?'

The best bit was the weird looks me and my friends got throwing ourselves against the broken vending machione (R.I.P.) In a desperate attempt to get it working again (Funnily enough it didnt) I think we really scared them....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 367 ✭✭Shiney

i dont give a **** bout the Junior Cert. some of our 2nd year summer test were honours junior cert papers from past years and i got 8 A's WOO go me
i've got a perverted French teacher.he married a past pupil right after she graduated and he used to teach her.we only started the 2nd year french book and obviously im in 3rd year.hope he gets fired.

did anybody else do the European Language Portfolio (waste of my life).we spent more time on that then we did on learning french.the only good thing about it was i got out of my Irish Listening summer test cause i had to go to Trinity for some award my friends were receiving for the ELP and i was a guest
last year they took all the fizzy drinks out of our vending machines  now it just water and powerade. but if we push the glass we can reach in and steal some of the drinks. i always steals our money or the odd time give us too much change but its never correct

just have one more thing to say bout the whole 'boys dont hit girls issue'.try telling that to this eejit in my class in CTYI '04 who tried(but failed)to attack me in the quad (even though i didnt provoke him in the slightest bit) did it 'for the craic'

(oh my god the amount of times i spell stuff wrong by accident i've had to edit nearly all of my posts-if i didnt edit it, it has mistakes in it -i'm in a bad mood so need to complain about as many things as possible)

Were I in your school, I would try. In the half-brick sense of the word

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,383 ✭✭✭Aoibheann

is TY mandatory in everyones school? its not in mine thank god so yay I'm in 5th year, JC results next week(arrgghhh), but yep, schools going fine so far, nearly no homework. we have an absolute genius of a maths teacher but he gives us only about 3 questions for homework. that was all I had tonight..hell yeah, lack of homework rocks!

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 2,094 ✭✭✭halenger

    JC results? Homework? School?

    LOL.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,880 ✭✭✭Raphael

TY is optional for me, thats why I'm in 5th year. Hurrah for getting to college that one little year earlier

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,851 ✭✭✭PurpleFistMixer

School is school! 3rd year is like 2nd year but with more stressed out teachers and our classroom is beside some kind of sewage system instead of being upstairs and within slimy object throwing at car distance.
And now our incompetent science teacher has left the new one told us we have about 40 chapters to cover and then another 100 to revise by the end of January.

    Hurray.

And I have Irish first thing 4 times a week. It gets better and better...

aw well cry me a river

I'm afraid you're going to need a permit if you plan on installing a river in this area.

Oh I wasn't giving out about school. That's just a brief summary is all. I have a LOT more... but I'll spare you.

dont know what you're all complaining about, I know its crap to be back at school and all, but all of you in 5th year like myself, come on its not even hard at the moment.
3rd years...you're being told now to study non stop for JC, right? well next year you're gonna be told it means NOTHING. all it does is decide if you do honours or pass. and nobody can force you to do either.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,851 ✭✭✭PurpleFistMixer

    Damn conspirational school.

Although.. since I'm going to have to do Irish for the LC, and since I want to do moderately well, I think trying to actually learn some of the fiendish crap this year may benefit me slightly.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,383 ✭✭✭Aoibheann

I didnt bother studying for my irish, though i wanted to do well. havent got my results yet but it was easy. seriously, i made most of it up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,851 ✭✭✭PurpleFistMixer

    Irish is my arch nemesis.
I battle it with style and brightly coloured capes every night when nobody's looking.
Making stuff up is hard when your Irish vocabulary does not rival your English one. (I have a tendency to think it in English, then try translating it as exactly as possible to Irish.. which doesn't work... at all...)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,383 ✭✭✭Aoibheann

i have a crap irish vocab aswell but anyway its not so bad. dont worry about it, you'll do fine.

ah school, takes me back that does...

    'boys dont hit girls issue'

    they bloody do when provoked.
    or out on the mug'

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,928 ✭✭✭✭rainbow kirby

I remember those days. Back when Irish first thing in the morning meant a lie-on and maths could be passed with your eyes closed. College is so much better than school, but requires waaaaaay more work. And don't ever stress about the JC. It's there to freak out the 14 and 15 year olds of Ireland.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 619 ✭✭✭pinkpimp

    the junior cert?
    ha!
    it sucked ass.
I didnt study a day, and passed everything...still did **** tho.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 631 ✭✭✭Joycey

I dont mind school that much at all. I have way more money then i did for the hols. I actually apreciate the weekend and when its friday and saturday during school i have a better night then a whole week during the summer. And I prefer 5th year to 4th. Im completely difrent to everyone else

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 367 ✭✭Shiney

oh my god irish is the biggest waste of time and if i get another E im down to pass and im just finding out that we have so much more to do cause our 2nd year irish teacher didnt teach us enough even though we thought she did plenty

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,440 ✭✭✭✭Piste

I like Irish as my roomate knows cos I never shut up about how great Irish is and I was talking in my sleep in Irish for Christ's sake.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,851 ✭✭✭PurpleFistMixer

Wow... I've never encountered someone who LIKES Irish before...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 367 ✭✭Shiney

I DESPISE my irish teacher.he's insane. he has an imaginary friend called finbarr and he talks to him. finbarr aparently sailed with Christy Columbus and had tea with George Washington. my teacher tends to bang his head off walls, wander into class half an hour late and leave fifteen minutes early.he usually is in a different block in the other side of the school cause has no sense of direction. he sings and makes exploision during exams. he was singing 'zipi di do da,zip i di day' today in the corridor.he's also my history teacher :(
mt 1st year teacher was sound cause you never had to do your homework cause if you 'left it at home' he wouldnt mind.he only minded if you talked and then his face would go bright red. he's really small so the first years leave the duster on top of the board so he cant reach it which is mean cause he's a sound teacher
