Right, so, schools starting soon, and ctyi people that live far away wont be free to reunite, so I propose a reunion near the start of the school year, cos I miss everyone so damn much. So how does the 11th of September at noon, Steo's Green (schweee) sound??
That way, people can fenagle their way to it using the excuse that school has only just started, when the year gets on it'll be harder and harder to see people etc...

And if people arent able to make it from afar, people coming from anear would do...

Matthew likes the Misfits? I did not see that one coming...

How about a reunion shortly before/after Christmas? Or one at Easter? Since they're holidays anyway, I guess it would be the best time for people to be able to get to a reunion.

What about a Waterford reunion? There's a train from Dublin to Waterford, there's more'n a few CTYI-folk there, I live on aforementioned train line, it's pretty close to Cork... does anyone dis/agree?

What about a Waterford Reunion? There's a direct train line to Dublin, there's more'n a few CTYI-folk living around there, I'm on the train line, it's sorta close to Cork... anyone dis/agree?

Oops. The reason I posted twice is that the stupid library computer turned itself off, and I didn't know if it had posted. Excuse-moi.

Easter and Christmas are well too far away to bear...
We could have all of them, one on the 11th, one at Christmas, and one at Easter.
C'mon people, I'm trying to handle a CTYI hangover here, help me out a little.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 631 ✭✭✭Joycey

why not mid term... around halloween. Or we could always do the 18th if the 11th is bad

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 619 ✭✭✭pinkpimp

theres an ulster reunion on the 19th though, and i doubt people would be able to do both.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 63 ✭✭incredula pert

My school is special. And expensive. And centrally located. That's why

And in my old school students went back to school in the following order of years: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 4th. Meaning that even if I hadn't moved school, I'd still be going back second last.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 466 ✭✭Caoimhe

theres something very odd about the vowels in that post...
anyway, yes the institute goes back later but some classes start at like 8.30am and with the commute into town on top of that, i think id rather be still snuggled up in bed with my school a 15 minute walk away...

Only optional classes start at 8.30. The official hours that you have to be in school are from 09.30 to 15.30. All classes/study outside those times is optional

/me considers "accidentally demolishing" the 2 closest schools to Caoimhe, so as to cause her to get up earlier so she has to face a commute, as I do

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,440 ✭✭✭✭Piste

Well in order to make you feel better I live a mere 8 minutes away from my School which means I can easily wake up at 8:30 in the morning and be in school by 9. :)

No, I'm going into 6th year in the Institute

The Institute got me my A1 in Applied Maths.

Though to be precise, it was a mate who could afford to go to the Institute, and who was generous with his notes. Ahem.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,880 ✭✭✭Raphael

    Still, A1 is an A1

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 466 ✭✭Caoimhe

lord how i hated applied maths

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,738 ✭✭✭Barry Aldwell

I heart Applied Maths. Especially projectiles.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 610 ✭✭✭article6

I heart projectiles. Too bad there's no easy way to do 3D problems involving missiles and wind speed.

I also heart threads that start out mediocre and end up discussing something interesting, like Applied Maths or an invasion of Ireland. Normally whenever I hear the word "reunion", I reach for my revolver.
