I'm only 15, but I've always had a bit of a gut for a few years. It's not a massive gut, but i do wear XL size clothes. I just really would like some advice on how to get toned up and look lean & muscular!

    I'm 15 years old
    weigh 15 stones
I'm 5' 10"(Think I may be experiencing my growth spurt. Will check this out)

P.s. would I be too young to join a gym?

You are not too young to join a gym, but you might be a little too young to start lifting weights. Generally you should not start lifting weights until you are over 16.

As for losing a few pounds.

Firstly, figure out how you put them on in the first place. Usually this is due to not exercising very much and not eating very well.

Sorting out your diet is the first step.

What do you eat (generally speaking)? Fizzy drinks, chips, crisps, chocolate, take aways (chinese, indian, fish and chips) are all serious weight gainers. If you still want to eat this kind of stuff, make sure you don't eat too much too often.

A bit of exercise is step 2.

You can join a gym if you want but they are not all that cheap (I couldn't afford one at 15)

Running or playing sports is probably the best way to lose a few pounds. Soccer, Rugby, Tennis, Swimming, running. Anything that you enjoy and gets you sweting will do th trick.

A few sit-ups, pressups, chinups will help tone your muscles, but the running around will really get rid of the gut.

    Good luck

Ok. well i'm generally not that active(I've been promising myself all summer to become active, but I failed) so I'd say that's why I have a gut.

Well, I gennerally am not a bad eater of junk food. possible 4-6 biscuits in aday, and the odd choc bar every 2 days, but i might eat fast food once a week!

OK, I'll try the swimming and jogging definitely(Someone should just keep telling me to do this until I actually do do it)but I don't think soccer, rugby etc. wouldn't suit me due to a kidney precaution(I'd get into it, but there's too much to say!) And as for the pressups/chinups these will definitely be given a go.

I'm going to do my dammdest to try and save up for a gym membership, but this could take a while!

    WISH ME LUCK!
