Request - Protein Powder Online

At the moment I'm using Body Fortress Protein powder that I bought from Nature's Way in one of their half-price sales (908g for E15). However, I'm nearing the end and I'm looking for websites, shops etc that sell similar protein powders (low-carb) for good prices.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I've just got some whey protein in the post from tmof.com

Any use it, what do you think of it?

The whey protein from TMOF looks like good value alright. Am I right in understanding that shipping is free to Ireland? That's excellent if that is the case.

Also, and more importantly, does the powder mix well and what are the flavours like? I'm buying this both for my boyfriend and myself, and while I don't mind what it tastes like too much, he does.

I'll have to get back to you on the taste, as it arrived this morning and Its my day off the gym.

I just order 1lb, to start off with, it cost £9.99stg and you're right free delivery.

I'm hoping it wont taste manky, will add ice cream if it does.

I've been getting my whey protein from tmof for the last year or two and I couldn't reccommend them more highly. Very professional and easy to deal with. I don't think that anybody comes close to them regarding price, well at least, I haven't found anybody that does!!

As regards to what the whey tastes like. Well I've only ever got the vanilla flavour and it tastes fine, well actually better than fine, it's quite tasty tbh! I mix it with water and it mixes no problems, although a lot of people use milk. If you do you milk use skimmed as it mixes easier that normal fuull fat.

Recently I ordered one of the specials that they were doing, 10kg of unflavoured for €100 or thereabouts. Now, while 10kgs for €100 is great value the taste is unbearable and I find that I have to mix it with something like an orange cordial just to drink it. But appart from that it's fine. The best wasy to take it though is to mix it into a smoothie.

    B.

Cheers BaZmo and Sproston Green, that's the kind of glowing recommendation I wanted to hear. I had a look at fitnessireland.ie and the prices are fairly hefty.

I think 5lbs of Vanilla whay protein here I come.

I usually mix my protein with a mixture of cream and water ( I avoid milk due to the carb content).

I've tried the vanilla, bananna and chocolate flavoured protein from tmof and can't recommend it enough, whilst the chocolate was a bit hard to stomach the vanilla is something you have to stop yourself from drinking! Bananna is quite nice as well.

I mix it either with water, full fat milk (takes a bit of stirring) or get the blender out and make a smoothie.

    Tmof all the way anyway!

I use the Body Fortress stuff (choc flavour) from Nature's Way. I mix it in warm water to make a kind of hot chcolate drink. I don't know how much good it's doing me but the main thing for me is I love the flavour. I have tried a few other brands of protein and nearly puked due to the sickly taste. I'm a fussy eater though :)

You'll find that Nature's Way regularly have this product at half price. I usually buy a few tubs whenever there's a sale on. The normal price is around 33 euros for 908g, the sale price is aroudn 15 euros which isn't bad.

Try the Tropical flavour from http://www.tmof.com

By far one of the nicest tasting protein powders I've ever had, and trust me when you're downing 5 or 6 shakes a day some of them become unpallatable very quickly.

Whats the best way to take whey protein? A couple of times a day when you work out, and then less on your days off?????

Depends on your reason for supplementing. First of all real foods are a better option for proteins but if you do need that extra then after traiing have a whey protein shake with some maltodextrin.

You could also take one or two shakes throughout the day between meals.

Before bed casein protein shakes are best as they're slow release and will keep the metabolism ticking over throughout the night.

Unflavoured is an acquired taste. A mate uses one scoop choc whey and 2 scoops unflavoured and says it makes both wheys taste better and it reduces costs.

fitness ireland is good. you can get 3 2.25kg tubs there for 150euro-eas, usn refelx etc, good brands

How do you guys pay for the tmof stuff if its in sterling?
also do you's know of any site/storehouse etc that sells bulk amount (5kg's plus) of unfalvoured whey protein. i say unflavoured because i'm guessing such large amounts come straight from the producer?

5kgs would not be considered a large amount. Whey comes from the manufacturer is 20kg bags.

I thought fitnessireland were expensive. I got a 2.2kg tub from tmof for E45 and it's cheaper again if you buy more.

I paid through credit card, the foreign exchange is done automatically for you.

They also sell unflavoured whey as well, but it is an acquired taste!
