It's mainly adult orientated stuff, with a few kids cartoons which lots of older people like.
Feel free to complain about how I left your favourite cartoon out. I'm sure I left out an important one or two.

    Its gotta be Bob!

Family Guy probably because I've been watching it again recently. Although I am partial to Batman which was just how Batman should be. Am I right in presuming they are releasing Batman on DVD?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,334 ✭✭✭OfflerCrocGod

The Simpsons pre 99, of course, nothing can beat the quality of those episodes - I've watched most of those episodes about 5-8 times and they still make me laugh.

The Simpsons, no contest. Although I wouldn't consider me an avid fan, it was brilliant. I'd still watch the new eps if there was damn all else on the telly.

I've never taken much to Futurama or Family Guy. Back in their day, Beavis and Butthead were one good reason to have MTV (obviously nowadays, nobody would care if they had MTV or not)

You are. Coming in August for R2 on separate volumes or you can get all of Season 1 on DVD if you can handle R1 discs.

Invader Zim for me :) Sheer genius.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,005 ✭✭✭Creature

    The Simpsons of course.

Samurai Jack should be on that list imo. It still wouldn't win but it beats Spongebob any day :p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 382 ✭✭Trip Hazard

The Simpsons is one if the best because of its ability to last this long :p , and it remains to be funny ;) . but for sheer "roll on the floor laughing" comedy its gotta be Family Guy every single episode i crack up laughing at least three times.

Family Guy is the best for me:D :D

Best animated series? Jesus that's tough. My current favourites are Samurai Champloo and Kodoma no Omacha. Naruto's also a bit of brainless fun.

All time favourites are Azumanga Daioh, Family Guy, Futurama, PlanetES, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, The Irresponsible Captain Tylor, ROD OVA.

I could be here all night.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,908 ✭✭✭Simi

Flip up between Family Guy and Futurama. I guess family guy now that futurama's been cancelled.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,921 ✭✭✭✭Pigman II

I also nominate Batman The Animated Series + Gotham Knights. Quality running all the way through that show.

I might have had some sympathy for the Simpsons if they had axed it 6 years ago, but as is I've learned to hate it yet more with each subsequent season renewal.

Samurai Jack must be on that list.

    12 Kingdoms Anime

If I was to include anime that list would become enormous :)

Actually one to add would be Road Runner; it might be old but it still cracks me up. Earthquake pills and acme bird seed hehe :)

Its got to be Family Guy!

Although Clerks the animated series was particulary good

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,480 ✭✭✭projectmayhem

out of that it's a toss between south park, futurama and family guy... only because the simpsons is dull of late.

but otherwise it has to be my childhood obsession, transformers.

Don't think it was shown over here.

My mate gave me his copy of the entire series on DVD (was signed by Kevin Smith)

    Bought it from ViewAskew.com

Well worth seeing! Though as a huge Kevin Smith fan, it was definantly not up to his standards in my opinion.

    But well worth seeing nonetheless!

The Simpsons is one if the best because of its ability to last this long :p , and it remains to be funny

I hope the winking smiley was to indicate sarcasm I really do cause if it isnt your a filthy liar.Family Guy is the obvious choice for me but I'd like to have seen "Fairly Odd Parents" and "Samurai Jack" on it.

Naruto! Best storylines I've ever seen in an animation.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,698 ✭✭✭✭BlitzKrieg

been watching season 2 of justice league which p*sses all over the first in that the storylines go really dark and alot more interesting...

    Teen Titans is brilliant :D:D:D

    invader zim of course

the hundreds of anime i go through...full metal panic infinite ryvius tenchi muyo trigun cowboy bebop and so on...

    man this is hard...

out of the selection it falls between family guy futurama and south park...and even then its too difficult...i'll choose other because teen titans and zim are my favs at mo...and i hate you...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,305 ✭✭✭The Clown Man

    Thundercats!?
    Cities of Gold?!

The eighties cartoons were just brilliant imo. Good cartoon making sort of slid into comedy since the nineties. Although they still make some class stuff over in Japan.

Although the best of the recent ones has to be Family Guy. Used to be the Simpsons but i bought the FG box set having never seen it before and now I see clearly. Anyone who is voting Simpsons mustn't have seen enough Family Guy to judge. :p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,945 ✭✭✭D-Generate

I voted for Family Guy on that list but there are just so many other cartoons that would be up for the top spot too.
    Samurai Jack
    Batman: TAS
    Home Movies
    All classics!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,187 ✭✭✭ondafly
