I can't help but buy stuff online!
It's so much easier than actually going out and buying stuff. Cheaper too!
If I could avoid ever going into a real shop again, I'd be a happy man!

    Kevin.

nothin like the excitement of a box/parcel being dropped to your door. Plus your credit card is far safer used online then in a shop or restaurant beleive it or not!

I can't be trusted to hang on to money... I just spend spend spend.
Therefore a Credit Card would be lethal in my hands... so I don't have one.
I'd end up in a huge pile of debt and trouble if I was let loose buying online :(
Anyway... being a girlie I just love mooching about shops trying on clothes and flicking thru shelves and racks in person.
    Retail therapy rawks! :D

I buy online quite a bit. I got my credit card specifically so I could do it. If something can be found cheaper or more conveniently online I'll probably buy it there, but I generally only buy from reputable sellers.

yeah, this is something I've been reluctant to do...
    what are peoples experiences?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,951 ✭✭✭L5

I dont know if id ever buy clothes off the net, unless it was something like a pair of football boots or a soccer jersey or something like that. Theyres far too much room for error imo

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 68,317 ✭✭✭✭seamus

With the exception of clothes and anything I'd have to be at home to take delivery of, I order whatever I can from the net.

Yeah, I buy stuff online alot.

a mate of mine swears by online clothes shopping.
Any time I've done it, the stuff hasn't fit, and I've sent it back.

    But...

If you know what size you are in a particular brand, then you're probably okay.
I've yet to test this, but it makes sense.. doesn't it?

    Kev.

Yes... I order DVDs off the internet all the time...

But I do sometimes feel very sorry for my postman when he has to deliver complete season boxsets...

You do save at least €10 when buying DVDs online.. and also the shops are so horrible to walk around in these days... HMV on Grafton Street probably has the best selection of DVDs... but it's just far to crowded all the time... The only shop which had a decent amount of floor space was the Virgin Megastore... and they ran that place into the ground...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 394 ✭✭Batbat

actually I find HMV on grafton street cheaper then the online stores (except for the newer titles) then cdwow is the way to go, free shipping also

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,367 ✭✭✭✭Sleepy

CD's, DVD's, Videos, Tickets, Flights, Holidays, Band t-shirts etc.

Only clothing I've bought has been t-shirts from band websites etc..

    LIES!

i buy a fair bit online (cd's dvd's games computer hardware) never thought of clothes though as there is too much trial and error involved

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,216 ✭✭✭✭monkeyfudge

HMV are just about okay for all the Hollywood junk...

but if you want something that is in anyway interesting you can expect to pay around €30 - €35 for the DVD as opposed to around €21 online...

Yes, I buy CDs all the time, as well as DVDs and tshirts and various other items.

i buy loads of stuff online pc parts cd's dvd's games etc. hate waiting for it to be deliverd

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,828 ✭✭✭ven0m

I pretty much buy most everything online:

    - MOtorcycle Stuff
    - Guitars & Guitar Equip
    - Clothes, Runners, shoes
    - Food, drink, take-aways for delivery
    - CD's, DVD's, Games
    - TV's, DVD Players, Consoles
    - Holidays, Flights
    - Tickets

I've been doing this for quite some time now & to be honest most of the stuff I've bought I've saved a TON of money on. Case in point, a guitar that retails in Music Maker for 999euros I bought in from the states in a FULL flight case brand new for 376euros & didn't have to pay ANY import duties.... I can't believe more Irish people don't do this - they'd save a fortune & send a message to Irish businesses that their exorbetant prices are no loner tolerable, because the more people that do this means the Exchequer loses, as do profiteers in this miserbale country.... since they won't pay attention to media reports & complaints, maybe they'll pay attention once their back pocket gets hit hard!

where o where could one purchase some cybershrooms???

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,678 ✭✭✭Selik

    Yes I do.

Mostly electronic goods like cameras, phones etc because they're far cheaper than this rip-off country that we're living in! I also buy nearly all my cds and dvds online for the same reason.

The main sites that I would use are:

    www.amazon.co.uk
    www.play.com
    www.cd-jungle.com
    www.cd-wow.com
    www.ebay.co.uk

I've also become pretty patient when it comes to waiting for stuff to arrive - I actually look forward to receiving all the various parcels and packages that I get in the post these days! Beats getting nothing but bills as well! :D

Come to think of it, I actually NEVER buy electronic goods in this country!

There's loads of sites in the UK selling fresh shrooms at pretty decent prices. Perfectly legal as well which is always a nice bonus when it comes to decent hallucinogenics! :D

Check this site for an idea of what's out there!

Pre-ordered a CD from CD-Wow. Release date 19th July, was despatched yesterday (12th July), will probably receive it before the release date :) Oh and it cost me only €13.99 as well, takes a massive summer sale for HMV to match that kind of price.

I would buy quite a lot of stuff online. Mainly DVD's and CD's, computer parts, but have also booked hotels, and buying car tax. Last week, I bought my first item from eBay (mobile phone). ;)

HELLLLLLP MEEEEEE - I'm addicted to eBay and I want to stop, but I can't help myself and Paypal already have my card details so I only have to make clickys and the stuff arrives and my wife goes 'Whats that' and I go 'nothing dear' and run off to open the latest Haynes Manual for a car I don't own and log on to see if there is more stuff I should have - please god there has to be a way to make it stop. Or I could try mushrooms.... Hmm that gives me an idea.....

    'ceptr

I said no to drugs - they didn't listen.

Don't cook them you will destroy all the Psilocybin and Psilocin (the good stuff!) :D

Just dry them out or stick them in a honey sandwich and prepare for lift-off!!! Another good way to get them into ya is to throw some onto a cooked omelette... Yum!
