I recently bought parts for a whole new system off them, i would defo recommend them, the parts came safely packaged and with no delays and the computer is up and running with no problems (so far), and its definatly the cheapest place to buy parts from imo.

    depends on the weight

    they use

GLS or DHL as I remember

also you know you have to have paypal account to order from them online right?

otherwise you have to go to the bank

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,219 ✭✭✭Redrocket

ahh crap theyve no credit card ordering thing?
i have a paypal account, but i think that credit card is easier.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,578 ✭✭✭CyberGhost

plus they charge you I think 3% of the whole price when you pay by paypal!

yeah this paypal thing is more annoying than i thought.
when i go to pay i have to convert from euro to usd in the payment, as i cant change the payment currency. is there a more automated way of payment that i just cant see??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,219 ✭✭✭Redrocket

the payment page just loops, what am i missing? it loops from the continue button where you choose a payment method, to the confirm order page

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,503 ✭✭✭Makaveli

After you confirm the order it's supposed to go to the Paypal page I think.
And from what I've seen it takes a long time for the Paypal page to load, I put it down to being on dial up but it certainly takes a long time to load.

took about 5 working days to clear- anybody know how long it roughly takes to deliver the parts- My stuff was sent out monday and it still has not arrived yet.

Keeps on getting re-routed again bastard*s

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,578 ✭✭✭CyberGhost

Mac daddy, re-routed? Like one minute it is in, Germany the other in England, then suddenly in Ireland? if that's what it does, that means it's already in Ireland, you chose GLS right? they usually delivery in the morning(that's how it is here) they will leave you a letter if you won't be home

    prolly here

ring them and give them your tracking number, they will give you the other number, that you will use to track the parcel on thier website

It always takes 5 working days for the money to clear.

My order took another 5 working days to be delivered so it was about 2 weeks in all. I have to say GLS did a good job with my delivery. The driver even rang me before he reached Athlone because it was early and I got it delivered to a business not a residential address.

Hmm just called the irish GLS office got some knackery one- she hung up the phone :dunno: cow
Called back again and got a friendly one this time- there had been some problem with the adress to- but they found it and the part should be out today :D:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,578 ✭✭✭CyberGhost

    congrats dude!

did they give you another tracking number?

because once they told me they would deliver it tomorrow but as it turned out "friedly dude" didn't even fill out anything! so I had to ring them back!

on your place I'd call twice! just to check that everything is alright

Aye i will indeed just to make sure ;)

maybe because it is purchased within the EU

when I got a parcel from the US, they gave me different tracking number, to track it in Ireland, I could enter their website, and there was a picture of my parcel taken at the customs and all the details!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,942 ✭✭✭Mac daddy

    Was that with GLS aswell???

just out of interest, what were the bank charges for wiring the money over to jes?

i've ordered something from watercooling.de before and i remember the bank charges were quite substantial. maybe 3% with paypal is a cheaper option :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,367 ✭✭✭Phibsboro

It cost me 75 cent with AIB. So much cheaper than paypal. I wired it throug last monday week, there was some flaffing about cos i didn't do it through my own branch. Jes got the money this tuesday and have shipped on wednesday. I went with ordainary post (im beside the main post office for my area and i don't trust gls!) so I wonder how long it will take! Any else ever use the post option with JES?

can you send the money with aib online banking??

that would be much handier for me.

paypal was quite quick though, as far as i know it's a faster transaction than the bank method, but i think they take 3% of the money.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,299 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

It's illigal for the bank to charge you any more than 75c so if they try just hit the teller a smack.

Paypal charge 3% of your order so if it's a big order it's really not worth it. I'd sooner wait for the money to clear. I heard Jes will clear it straight away if you fax them the bank forms.

Did you provide BOI with an IBAN number? If so, then yes, you have been had. Any IBAN transfer up to (I think) 12000 euro costs 75c (or 20 euro if you want it sent overnight).

If you sent it with just JES's normal current account details, then that could explain the high cost. Ring BOI 24 hour banking and see what transfer procedure you used.

No - you can only do it in person or over the phone. Weird, eh?

I wired money in tsb on friday (it cost 50c), just wondering though: I wired the price of the items but not the cost of delivery. On the site it said it was unable to calculate the cost of delivery so when will I find out/have to pay it? At the door?

My parts cost me 280 euro's and i had to pay a 12 euro fee to transfer the money??
I had the IBAN number just copied and pasted everything of JES site and brought that into the bank.
Bastard*s i think they might have robbed me!

And i was not transfered overnight either- took three working days!

You people should all really file a complaint with the IFSRA. Possibly try it with your bank manager first, you never know... I have AIB refund me a €20 overcharge by sticking to my guns.

Thanks for the advice Mac daddy. I emailed them and they told me it would be €30 (seems very cheap) however they didn't tell me how or when I'm supposed to pay it. I'll have to email them again.
    I'll keep you posted.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,569 ✭✭✭maxheadroom

Arden - if they actually sent it german post, it'll be delivered by securicor omega or dhl when it gets here. They may have sent it GLS anyway - email them and ask.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,005 ✭✭✭CivilServant

So is german post the prefferred option or GLS? At least gls is fixed rate of 17e. How much does the german post cost?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,569 ✭✭✭maxheadroom

Somebody had a serious problem with Jes + german post here before, can't remember who though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,367 ✭✭✭Phibsboro

    hi,

Just to follow on my earlier mail. I ordered on a Monday, paid the money thru on a tuesday, they confirmed they got the money the following tuesday and said they would send the goods the next day. I got a failed delivery from DHL/Omega yesterday (exactly one week after they left Germany) and was in for the second delivery today. Overall very impressed with the process given the prices. As above I was surprised at the DHL delivery given I had choosen Post option, but it makes sense in a way -> Deutshe Post own DHL!

Everything arrived well packed and in one piece. And the 17" LCd monitor had no dead pixels thank god (not that I can see so far anyways :) ).

BTW, they are obviously well thought of in Germany - the box included a pile of advertising bumpf including a free PC Mag and a Dell leafet, all in German of course.

So based on all that, I'd use them again and I would again choose the post option.

    C

It took 7 days for the money transfer to be confirmed, jezz :/, and how long then did it take to post? from the wednesday to today? thats like 15 days :/ .. and im an impatient person... arghhh!

+ im off next saturday for 2 weeks, so wont be at house.. ugh thats like a month, I shouldnt have bothered ordering it till next friday and let it be delivered while I was away... FEck!

Is there anyway of cancelling an order with the money allready sent and decide to get something different and sent at a later date with the money that you have currently sent?

Sounds like a remedy for trouble though doesnt it.
