If it can be scripted without breaking any rules then do it. I used to have a heavily scripted TFC config, was great for switching weapons and adjusting FOV etc.

Exactly Ronan|Raven, the admins are hardly gonna kick you out of the lan for breaking a rule in a (fun) qw tourni, if ye want to be absolutely certain on the rules (if you are trying to make a wallhack or something), then the rules for this one will basically be the ones enforced for the upcoming duelmania tourniment (http://duelmania.quakeworld.nu), but without the -ruleset smackdown.

Remember people, it's for FUN.

a) Because if I had it on it would require telling everyone who's gonna play to insert it into their batch file.

b) Because it disallows cl_truelightning which I will be putting into the newb config to make it easier for them to lg, mainly the a) reason tho tbh.

If this is just for fun then why call it a tourni?? generaly you're in a compitition to win not have fun, but I just enter for the fun.

What i would like to see is everyone with the same settup. not fair on amatures such as myself when the experienced player alters the game to take aadvantage of things i don't know about.

So would it be possible for all players to have the same install and config files???

No, it is not. I will have a newb config available which takes advantage of all the visual settings available while keeping the controls easy.

You see Timeout, starters use the scroll button to scroll through weapons and use mouse1 to shoot. The next stage is binds, you can switch to rl, gl or lg by pressing a key while still using mouse1 to fire. The next stage (the last one in terms of configs, the stage I play at), is having a different button/key for every weapon, and it reverts back to sg after firing one (to prevent droppage of good weapons).

However, I'm always on hand to help, I will help setup anyone's config. You can use mine if you want, no problem, it'd just be hard for you to adjust to, although Caliden seems to be able to use the one I played with at gl9, so do whatever ye like tbh.

P.S. It's a fun tourniment, as in, we'll play to win, but I don't want any whiners or being sad because their opponent made them lose etc etc. I'm gonna go with Doodee's idea of dividing entree's into 3 different groups, advanced, intermediate and newb. Then putting random advanced with newbs and intermediates with intermediates. I think it's the fairest method.
