Thought this might be a good conversation starter. I have a bit of fetish... I won't say what it is, but I was wondering if everone had one or is it just a few people who have them? If not, what are your views on them?

I personally have preferences, but nothing that would be called a fetish, but it seems as though most people have an interest approaching fetishism. Bondage seems awful popular for example.

Most fetishes are banal or gross or both. I'm not saying banality is all that awful (people are far more similar to each other than we like to let on) but it would be cool if people had fetishes that didn't have obvious connections with sex to anyone else - like, say, reading out scenes from Hamlet as foreplay or having a carrot sandwich before they can have sex and a glass of pineapple juice after or having to change position every 7 minutes exactly, these positions being determined by a random number generator...etc

I think it would be possible for people to have such fetishes rather than the more traditional fetishes if they took the time and effort to find lots of ways to connect something not obviously sexual with sex. It would allow people to have their own take on sexuality rather than having it dictated to them by the porn industry.
