To make a long story short. Had an operation, could hardly walk for 6 months. Then had my finals, so was stuck in my room studying and basically have put on a lot of weight, especially in the mid section. I have read a whole bunch of the other threads, but they seem to be more general.

Exams finished yesterday, so want to lose some weight over the summer and looking for some exercise advice. Basically I want to,

    1) lose some fat around my stomach
    2) generally tone my upper body.

What is the best type of exercise? Should I go for a run every morning and then do some other exercises? What is the best time, before breakfast, evening, etc... or does it make a difference.?

    thx.

What ever you enjoy. if you enjoy it you'll do it more often and thats the most important thing - to pick something you enjoy.

Its completely up to you. I've found I prefer to swim in the mornings and run in the evenings, and cycling around mid-day. Try different things out and see what you prefer.

To loose fat from arounf your belly the best way (imo) is jogging - it really does work - you just gotta give it some time. Any sort of ab crunches with do the toning afterwards - you might well have toned abs - you just might not be able to see them =)
