I think most people consider the logitech momo (it's worth about e100+ new) to be the best of the affordable wheels. There are some crazy-expensive ultra-realistic ones above that.

I had a MOMo ,fantastic wheel but the bloody thing broke when my then 14 month old son yanked it too hard while allowing him to play with the force feedback testing program
Ive since got the Logitech Formula Force wheel setup and must say it is top class too.
I paid 70 yoyos or so in PC world i think.
Wheel and pedals are a must if you ask me so its a great investment m8.
