Who's cooler James Bond or Indiana Jones?

This is one of those questions that is impossible to answer!

Its a close call, and some would argue that it is an unfair comparison.

That they represent 2 completely different forms of cool

But that's the point! It's more a reflection of what you think is cool!

For me, it has to be: James Bond

Why???
1. He gets all the chicks (averages 2-3 per movie)
2. He has cool gadgets that let him flip out and kill people
3. He kills loads'a'people! (usually followed by a smart oneliner)
4. He pulls off crazy stunts. (like that bit in golden eye where he jumps off the cliff, into a plane, and flies it to safety....genius!!!!)
......I'm sure I'll think of more........

They're actually cooler. The gadgets Bond employs can be nifty, but they generally not too memorable - it's more that their effect is good. Whereas Indy's hat should only be a hat, yet it somehow transcends that. It's almost like the hat + whip are a personality of their own.
Let's look at it another way - you see a pen. Do you think of Bond? No, you think that's a pen.
You see a battered hat, or a whip, and Indy instantly springs to mind. The whip is now synonmous with everyone's favourite adventuring archaelogist. It's the ability to make this instant association that means whip beats gadgets, no matter what trickery they might do.

Definately Indy. No doubt about it.

He's just a normal bloke who manages to overcome so many obstacles without using stupid gadgets and disgraceful one-liners. Indy does it all with his ingenuity, resourcefulness and a bit o' luck thrown in for good measure. Basically Indy is just a normal bloke however Bond is a superman who can drive any vehicle, speak any language, use any weapon......seduce any woman :mad:

Besides Indy's enemies actually deserve what they get, I mean everyone hates Nazis right? Whereas in Bond's world its such a bad thing to try and take over the planet, we've all thought about it at some point!

And besides if it were real life Bond would be riddled with STIs at this stage :eek:

For the reasons given in more detail by other posters i,e, Normal bloke not ridiculus superman, resourceful etc.

Also I think Iny has cooler lines ("No ticket" versus "I shot him in the head with my pistol" or whatever lame ass lines Bond comes out with).

(I dssed up as Indy the last two hallopweens - thinking of going for the hat trick by compartmentalising my mates so each group thinks I came up with a new costume while I get to run around with the hat, whip et al.)
