    Evening all.
Bit of freindly advice needed. I work out about 3/4 times a week lifting weights and spinning. Recently ive noticed im getting a bit too big around the shoulders and chest. Its been said to me by a couple of my good mates. This is not what i want out of my workout, i just want to be in good shape. Im a pretty big build anyway, and have found that im finding it very difficult to keep to a size that im comfertable with. Plus none of my clothes fit me any more, and i aint buying a new wardrope.
Is it just as simple as reducing the weights , im really not to sure.

    Thanks for any help.

    A.T

In a nutshell, yes. Smaller weights and more reps. or actions will produce less bulk. The best thing to do is to take up rowing, or failing that, use the rowing machine or as it's properly called the ergometer. But you have to use it correctly. The rule is never pass your hands over a bended knee. Are you in a gym or training at home?

    It's a great cardio workout.

I can't stand it though, but some people love it. It's not the same technique as competitive (boat) rowing either (not that I do that).

Yep it's a great workout and if you are trying to get fit but do not want to look like Mr. Universe rowing\ergometer keeps you toned and builds your stamina. If you are like me and start to build outwards too quickly, you are better off by far to concentrate on the cardiovascular rather than concentrating on the weights. Maybe two thirds of your time in the gym on cardio and one third on weights.
    Hope it's of some help!

Just to labor the point , the only way to get anything out of it is to get someone who actually rows to show you how to use the machine properly. It's a bitch to get used to it as its's a coordination thing.

    Happy sweating!
