Lads - looking for more info here - and please dont post about contaminated protein etc like my last post i started on supplements. i don't want to know about any wild rumours.

    Anyways,
to those of you who take amino's, whats your routine etc. Myself, take about 12- 14 prolab amino 2000 a day broken into 3 -4 different parts of the day.

Also, i take 1 lot about an hour before training, then another lot straight after training with a protein shake whats your opinion of this. Especially the part about after training downing the aminos and protein together.

Any good feedback appreciated especially from those with experience of supplements behind them.

    cheers!

What protein sources do you use in your diet?

Supplementing with Aminos is pointless if you have a varied amount of real protein sources or you're already taking whey.

BCAA's are even absorbed slower than Whey protein so a simple whey shake with water post-workout is best.

Spend the money you're wasting on Aminos on a casein protein and take it last thing at night then take whey protein post-workout and get plenty of natural protein sources you'll be doing alot better.

    Thanks for that reply logic.

Basically, i'm taking about 3 whey shakes a day Morning ,After training and Evening.

I'm trying different combinations of supplements out.
So how would you recommend my intake.
Totally stay away from amino's when on the whey and take 2 whey shakes a day along with the cassein shake last thing at night.
Maybe take some creatine twice a day as well?
Is the cassein good for recovery?
Can you recommend a good cassein protein supplement

    feedback appreciated

    cheers!

Without knowing your training schedule, goals and diet it's hard to recommend a suitable course of supplentation but as a general rule have complex carbs first thing in the morning, a whey shake first thing isn't productive.

If you train in the mornings you can sip a whey shake through the session. If not just have the complex carbs then a shake once or twice throughout the day to supplement your diet and have one within 30 minutes of training.

Casein shakes are recommend for night as it's much slower acting and can prevent any minor catabolism which may occur overnight. (Unlikely but still..)

Also take a good multi-vitamin and clean diet high in proteins and complex carbs (chicken, eggs, lean mince, lean steak, fruits, vegetables)

You seem to be on a bulking phase anyway so taking in sugars like fructose won't do you any harm. With regards the creatine, yes it's a very useful supplement and you will see gains in strength and size through constant use, as you seem to be trying to bulk maybe look at taking a weight gainer supplement with your creatine.

http://www.tmof.com are very good in both price and quality for supps.
