Region 3 DVD's why so cheap? compared to region 1 and 2?

    As per cdwow.ie anyway?

Any ideas? are they crap quality or non-english?

Also would you recommend waiting for region 1 or 2 to come out?

dont mind if they are missing extra bits, never watch them anyway!!! but movie been hacked to bits would be a definite no-no...

have you had experience in the past with this?

sometimes they can be a bit thin on the extra's, but the simple answer is that they are targeted at a different market which in most cases have less disposable income, in countries where the overall price of goods in general are a lot cheaper than in the west.

roe example, would you pay 40-50 euro for a DVD p[layer, and then start forking out 25-30 euro for each disk?

everything costs more here, so DVD prices are priced accordingly.

'Legitimate' DVD's in Russia cost as little as 6 euro if you can find them, simply because pirate DVD's are freely available in shops and markets for sale for around 2-3 euro, and the legitimate DVD distributors have to price them accordingly so that people will bother to pay for them, instead of going for the cheaper option.

movie distributors will charge what people will pay, and since there is little option (CDWOW aside) for people but to buy 25 euro DVD's, that is what most people do.

and the movie studios, and distributors rake it in while we get ripped off.

€25 is doing well for a non special offer dvd too. A lot of the time the minimum is €30, and if its a double disc, then its even more.
