    Police Squad (another film)

Actually, Police Squad was the TV show which inspired the Naked Gun movies

Anyway Murder City, Murder in Suburbia, MIT and Taggart should probably go on the list along with all the Prime Suspect shows

BBC also have "docusoaps" Rail Cops and Traffic Cops

    POLICE
    Dixon of Dock Green
And of course Deupty Dawg :)

    NOT Police
Irish RM - more related to police force than
    - Get Smart - they were spies (99 hmmm)
(next it will be the man from uncle)
    - Professionals - think they were MI5 not CID
    - Mannix etc . = PI's - add in Joe Dancer & ellery queen & Ironside & Poroit & avnegers & new avengers - please remove Mr & Mrs heart or I'll drag in sheriff's ..
    - Dangermouse/Dangerman

    Ones I'm not sure of
Softly Softly Task Force (BBC early 70's)
Margrait -(french lad -wasn't he a cop)
Jake and the Fatman (Fatman was a cop wasn't he?)
What was the one with Jimmy Nails called ?
Van Dyke - was he a cop or PI ? (the one in amsterdam with that theme tune)
Wasn't there an Irish series with a cop living in a
warehouse (unplausible as that would seem)

did PC Plod ever get his own show ?

The half hour comedy on TG4 - same guys that used to do the undertakers

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,890 ✭✭✭embee

    "Cracker" with Robbie Coltrane.

I know he was a criminal psychologist, but he worked with the filth.

    Best cop show ever imo.

Yep, he was a cop alright. The Fatman was a lawyer.

The guy who played Jake, Joe something-or-other, was in another series before that called 'Riptide' and they were private eyes too, if I remember correctly. So, I suppose that could be added to the list too, couldn't it?

'Spender'. How could you forget that, he drove a Sierra Cosworth for God's sake! Bit hard to forget something like that! :D
