The matching of seat stay and stem to the frame colour scheme detracts from the overall beauty of the frame.
Trying too hard and Colnagos don't need to do that. They are already beautiful - let the simplicity shine through.

    Cool. You live, you learn...

I think I may have missed a bargain C59 some months if this is the case for that frame too.....mind you, it was a larger size to suit my 6ft frame and didn't have a cut-out, so maybe it was fake. You need to be careful !

looks like the real deal blaa man- however the 59 you were looking at was as you said quite a bit larger..

i cant see the point in buying a bike brand thats famed for its paint schemes and quality of painting , stripping and repainting ..( may have been bought nude i suppose)..
part of buying a colnago is buying those paint finishes..
anyone whos owned one going back to the late 80's onwards will agree with this im sure..

Make logos more stealthy and real lugs instead of metallic paint and my kidney is on sale.

Pity it says "Alan" on it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,520 ✭✭✭Alek

Do you mean logo (visually) or there is something wrong with the brand?

I know people called Alan and I don't want to ride any of them.

Nice! crazy high gearing for CX though :)

I'd love to race on a vintage machine, even if just for style points :D

Gearing might not be as bad as you'd imagine. I think I have a 42x28, those Mavic SSC had a moveable cage so you could take some big cogs for climbing. But to get a feel of it (and to look cool!) you'll (all) just have to join us in Killarney so! http://www.oldvelos.com/registration-for-vic-closes-friday-4th-september/
