Dopeyboy gettin ya down?

How about this 7 string fretless guitar to brighten the day?

I think this says it all:

While I strive to be "in-tune", I'm not overly concerned with pitch or key. That said, a precision crafted instrument is the only way, for me, to achieve tonal versatility.

I have bolt-on, recessed bolt-on, set neck and neck through instruments. They are all valid ways of attaching a neck to a body. It's down to personal preference at the end of the day. Just because an instrument might be neck-through it doesn't mean it's any good. Ever try to micro-tilt a neck through?

giblet, maybe you should take you own advice, if people want to be gob ****es because they have a hard on for a 7 string and start to cry because i happen to say 7 strings suk ass then thats their problem, not mine.

Also my opinion IS informed as i have a 7 string sitting in my bedroom and that is what my INFORMED opinion is based on, as well as others i have tried.

No I don't have a hard-on for anything, but it's clear to me that your hatred for 7 strings stems from the fact that you dislike the bands that use them, and not the guitar itself, which obviously you know nothing about, even if you do claim to own one.

how exactly did you come by this conclusion of where my hatred comes from, one of my favourite guitarists is steve vai, passion and warfare is a pretty damn good album, my favourite tracks being, possibly one of the best instrumentals ever 'for the love of god', i also like 'the animal' and 'the audience is listening', the wah in that kiks ass as well as the funky intro.. i even like to play a bit of vai, obviously i cant play 'the audience is listening' perfectly because that is played with a 7 string and i don't like 7 strings.. it has nothin to do with the what bands i like, i couldn't give a **** if some band uses a 7 string and i'm not that ****in ignorant to let the fact that they use a 7 string effect my opinion on those bands.. i dont like 7 strings because I dont like em, i have an 7 string esp and its absolute bollox, the fret board is way to big and bulky which i dont like.. do i have to explain myself anymore?? so could you please explain how you came to the conclusion that i dont like them just because of what bands use em when u dont even know me??

Let's not forget why we having this lovely conversation - you said 7 string guitars "suks ass", just because you don't like it. I'm not a fan of Jazz but I respect it. I'm not a fan of the saxaphone, but I feel that it's a decent instrument. I believe you are the one showing your ignorance simply because you dislike one make of 7 string guitar.

i didn't say i disliked it because it was an esp, i dislike 7 strings in general, this isn't hard to understand... and comparing ones respect for an instrument with an extra string to a musical genre isn't exactly the same thing now is it,,, why should i respect something? because it has a seventh string?

Dismissing 7 string guitars as a whole because you couldn't play one is a little closed-minded. I've got a 6 string bass, the neck is f*cking huge and it's much harder to play than my 4 string basses. Does that mean it sucks? No, it means I have to try harder to achieve the level of playing I want. More strings = more possibilities. I put up a post about a guy who plays an 11 string bass. I can't see the point of that instrument but the guy seems to know what he's doing so I'm happy. I've no intention of ever playing one, but I can see it's merits to some people. Not my cup of tea but that doesn't mean it sucks. Each to their own.

i didn't say i disliked it because i couldn't play it, of course i can play it i just dont like the feel of the fret board etc... if i hated everythin i couldn't play then i would have quit the guitar on the first day i picked it up..
