I was chatting to my mate on lunch and he seemed to think that drinking coffee
speeds up the heartbeart, therfore this will assist a higher metabolism making it more difficult to put on weight?!

Does anyone know if there is any truth behind this or is my mate taking s*** as
Some days i could drink up to 6 coffee' s!

It is true that caffeine, as a stimulant, increses the heartbeat and therefore metabolism but a couple of things must first be accounted for.

Firstly, caffeine as used in fat burners is in far greater quantities - up to 900mg maybe more. It needs to be this high to be effective and of course used in conjunction with a diet.

Secondly, caffeine has been attributed to increasing stress levels in the body. This increases the production of the hormone cortisol (bad!) which prevents muscle gain and gives you a belly in this case. This is due to signature biomodulation if it's of any consequence to you.

You should cut down the coffee and if you wanna burn fat, do it the hard way like the rest of us!

You also have to remember that caffeine is a diuretic and laxative.

So although it sounds like a wonder drug, it's no fun having to work a little harder to build muscle (as Easygainer says), dying to go to the toilet all the while :D

    caffeine is a diuretic

recent research suggests that caffeinie is no more of a diuretic than water (which is a diurectic :))

(Trying to remember where I read this when I do I'll post it)

And to put the amount of coffee required to shift into fat burning its roughly the equivalent of 9 expressos.

i started drinking coffee in the morning again .i find it gives me a boost and it's 'good for your heart' or so they now say

    Edit: It's biosignature modulation

Anyways, I don't see how water could be much of a diuretic - wouldn't that be contradictory? I haven't seen any studies on it though so I wouldn't be sure...

I think it's better though not to rely on coffee for boosting weight loss!

cheers for the info guys. over the last couple of weeks i have levelled my daily amount of coffee to only 3 cups a day. i have seearched on the web and it says too that 3 cups a day is your RDA. So that is fine by me. Im still having a complete twat of a time trying to gain weight though. I think with this new mass gain supplement ive recently purchased i shouldnt have a problem as i can finally see some results on the old "put some weight on". the only other issue as i have is i can seem to get my left tricep to build!!! Maybe it's because im 5 foot 6 and weight around 9/half stone? i have recently had a break form the gym to see if it will do anything but everytime i work on it, it goes bigger then goes back to it's same size!!! Any idea's?

    Cheers!!!
