Just found out about this wonderful station & it truely rocks! I'm glad i found a wonderful radio station to listen to. They never play the same songs over & over like radio stations over here much more variety to listen too. I'm totally hooked on the Phantom now!
Thanks for the wonders of music Phantom you've opened my eyes & ears to a new world now. Now i can hear much more music now. Phatom has got it going on with music all the time.

and welcome to the company of the magical wonderful phantom fans.
hee hee Trussville.. that sounds funny. i've heard a lot of weird things about this "america" place

The State i live in the taxes keep going up. But the States that've the lotteries in it don't have many problems. Alabama is definetely screwed up in general! That's why its cost Mega Bucks if you get into trouble in Alabama. Plus they're having to lay off some court baliffs now in our state. So that means we're probably in for a major tax hike!

Whaddya know, another listener from the southeastern US..(I live in Savannah GA) and yes, the stations here (outside of some college radio) suck.
Funny how things go back and forth across the pond though. Just saw The Jeff and Vida Band here in Savannah and they just got back from playing the Johnny Keenan Banjo Festival (and a few other gigs) over in you neck of the woods..
So when are you going to send us Seprico, Otranome, and a few others in return? :D

Well I live in Worcester Massachusettes and listen to Phantom . They have some really great live shows on the weekend . Take a listen to the two Petes Talk Rubish some Sunday @ 4pm local time in Ma. Some sunday afternoon come into the chat room and meet us you may even get a chance to talk to the presenter on air. Its a blast you can also get a request played on air if Pete is in the chat room. Your Sunday night will never be the same after you enter the chat room. LOL

My head feels groovy this morning! I had a good little drunk yesterday. Been a while since i drank like that!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,105 ✭✭✭Tyrrial

If only i could just go out and get drunk any random time of the week.. but alas, lack of funding and the need to do well in College forbids it (mostly lack of funding of course):D

Cueball, I've got to hand it to you. I don't know how you can keep a straight face. If these brainwashed Phantom (or 'Phatom' as you've been repeatedly calling it)-ites weren't so eager to hear praise lavished on their fave radio station they would recognise you as the comic genius you are.

I salute you! And I hope your Lasagna ROCKED! AS MUCH AS PHATOM!

Now where did I put that Tycho Brahe CD?, ah yes... the bin.

    Careful now Magpie,

Your cyncism is rapidly reaching the point of self-parody. Then again, maybe thats the intent. If so, congratulations, its working. If not, oops, its mighty dull.

Hopefully see you at the Sugar Club for our Christmas party on Wednesday 17th. Promise to play some Tycho Brahe just for you :D Least I can do to try to make you smile.

Just looked up Trussville, Alabama, and astoundingly it exists. Behold:
    Trussville equivalent of boards.ie

I think my favourite is "I NEED A JOB BUT EVERYWHERE IV BEEN HASNT CALLED BACK! anyone know anywhere i can go?".

Now I'm not so sure if cannonball is an elaborate hoaxer, or the town grammar coach.

you din't put in the 'help me' at the end of the thread title, intentionally trying not to get yourself criticised for being heartless?

How come any criticism is received with "Ah now stop with the aul cynicism"??

    Hmmmm

The point is this person is clearly crazy..:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,062 ✭✭✭SimonMaher

    Lamda,

Constructive criticism is always welcome, but criticism of everything just for the sake of it is not welcome on this board.

Crazy or not, I dont care. Just make the effort.

again pete thats just your opinion and a very conservative opinion thta is.

criticism in any shape or form should be allowed at will.

    why not?

araid you might not be able to argue...

people can say what they want but unfortunatly you, like the station, have very conservative views on what exactly is constructive and well un constructive criticism.

If somebody wants to be cynical they're allowed to be cynical just as much as they're allowed to constructivly criticise.

lighten up and be more liberal...

maybe then people might stop taking phantom so boringly serious.

Maybe i should just stay at work a little longer! Just kidding then i would miss out on The Phantom. I think of the Phantom as a major Kick Ass radio station. It loks like there were some people trying to cause world war three in here. But i'm funny in ways got me a buzz close to end of work shift. I've a cool boss. Long as it's close to quitting time! My goodness i thought the world was gone but got home seen all the post & was tetoally shocked by it.
Maybe i freaked for a change because i was gone most of the day again. But i really got surprized by ya'll again. Phantom has many good folks on here! Gotta run eat supper.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 39 madmanmoon

Wow, cut the guy some slack! Granted, he could use spellcheck a bit more, and I don't really need to know what he had for dinner, but he's just passing time. As far as the station goes, I agree with him, you have a good one.
Ok, I'll admit that Alabama does get the butt end of jokes for good reason sometimes, but it's not that bad of a state. They even have the Redneck Riviera down there, host of the annual mullet tossing contest (the fish, not the haircut). How can you not have fun doing something that stupid?
Ragamuffin, I don't know if you live in the area or not, but appreciate a good thing if you have it. I have looked up other stations from places like London and LA. Hell, I grew up in the shadow of Manhattan. Phantom is a good station. Your comments kind of remind me of the kids in college who would bitch about our station, the town, and the school instead of appreciating what was there. One thing I agree with about, you do have to get out once in a while to appreciate the local scene. Fortunately, you have one there. I doubt that Trussville does, although it is right outside of Birmingham.
Here in Savannah, we do have a small music scene. It isn't much, but it's worth seeing some live shows to keep it going. And our websites are a bit more on topic...Savannah Underground
Oh, and Butterfly, I think you're five hours off. So Sunday at 9 would be about 1am for me, 2am for Cueball..a bit late for those who need to be up on monday!

I've been in one of my better moods since i heard this station. I've got the times memorized now. I can stay up late & get up early. There have been days where i go in early to work late home. I,ve worked days & nights together. So it's nothing to me. I like to come in from work & listen to radio on net! Phantom has changed me now that i listen. It's much better that way than same old songs playing overe & over. By the way Phantom rules all together by me.

Well perhaps an idea of what you think constructive criticsim is exactly will help?
All I know is that ANY criticism that i've come across ("constructive" or not) that is voiced is greeted with the same reply rather than actually answering it... To say that people are criticising for the sake of it is unfair and without grounds IMO.
