I'm not listening to anything but if I was, it'd probably be Sun Ra, Albert Ayler or Cecil Taylor.

Are we calling Jamie Cullum "Jazz" now? Come on folks... he doesn't exactly have what it takes... ok he play's piano... but he can't sing for sh*t... yes he may have a pretty face but he's about as Jazz as Nora Jones.... (whom I have to say I like a whole lot, she can sing and play) But these people are not Jazz, Dr.Teeth from the muppets know's more about Jazz then Jamie Cullum!!!
    DoctorTeeth_s.jpg

They are pop's new jazz or some such nonsense.... anyway... this isn't exactly the place to start a discussion about this so sorry about that.

I'm currently listening to Diana Krall's album When I look into your eyes.
    (now she is jazz)

they are playing on valentines night in vicar st. if you go to any gig this year, go to this one. they are amazing, i wish i could find adjectives to do them justice but language just falls short of expressing what their music can.

I have a version of it on Jaco's Birthday Concert CD, not sure if John Scofield is on it. There's also a demo on the Punk Jazz CD which is kicking my ass right now ;)
