Im looking to buy weights, bench and punching bad for christmas and im just looking for any decent online websites and where the cheapest place is to find them  (Parents getting me this stuff for christmas) :D

I was looking in argos calalogue and I got the following prices :

Weights 50kg spinlock cast iron barbell/dumbell set : 50 sterling
Folding Bench with Butterfly : 65 sterling
Punching bag includes mitts : 40 sterling
    York 925 Multigym : 250 sterling

Total of 405 which is around 580 euro

York 925 Multigym <<--- I might cut that out until I gather more money.

Just wondering from you guys if I should pay this price for them or do you have any cheaper places I could get these from?

Yeah Daves on the button here. Alot of the gear on vjhomefitness.com is fairly reasonable.

Stay away from Argos if you're going to get serious. You'll only be forking out more cash in 6 months time.

That place in Blanch is ****e went up their to get a bench and barbell just to do a bit for any nites i couldn't make it to the gym. Any good stuff they have is very expensive(probably everywhere) and that good stuff is multi gyms which are huge to say the least.
I think they said it was €2 a kilo weight if you wanted to buy plates etc. **** that.

Join a gym man, better atmosphere, better buzz, better advice, better body and you might make a few knew friends and you come across young so if your over 16 etc you can't go wrong whilst still growing get down there and eat a lot(depending on how big you want to get)
I started young and every 2 years or so i take about a 3 -4 month break from it just to chill and i find whatever food i eat i don't really show it because i reckon my body is trained on which way it should grow(if ya know what i mean)
    do it!ww)

No they won't. Standard plates and bars have a 1 inch hole/diameter, Olympic plates and bars have a 2 inch hole/diameter. The only way to fit a standard plate on an olympic bar would be to drill a bigger hole in the plate. Not really feasible :)

Show me a place where you can get plates cheaper? I've done a fair bit of looking and the place in blanch seems to be the cheapest. A bit cheaper than JJB, Elvery's etc. I know you can get plates quite cheaply in the UK eg from that Gymrats website - but then you have the expense of shipping.
