This might sound like a dumb question, just I am getting annoyed at things gettin in the way of me training.

Should I be continuing to train if I am ill (cold/flu) or is that just plain daft. I have a feeling its the latter, but just thought I would ask what the rest of you think.

    Cheers,

I would imagine that if it's just a cold that you have there would be absolutely no problem at all training. But on the other hand, if it was the flu that you had you wouldn't be able to train due to the debilitating effects of the flu. Many people when they say they have the flu only in fact have a common cold, and it's worth noting that there is a huge difference between the two.

So in answer to your question...if it's a cold...Train.......and if it's the Flu....you won't be able to train!!!

Yah if you can train, train.

Generally I find that cardio works well to knock out a cold. Just be careful not to hang around after cold etc when your immune system is a little lower.

Today for example I am in a similar boat. I have an annoying cold, and don't feel too well. So I'm gonna try a 40min cardio session instead of shoulders/back as I think I would get less from the weights right now.

You can always make up a weights day if you do skip one. But unless you are really sick, my advice is do something.

I feel a lot worse for missing a session.

Mmmnn. Geting over it now, but I buckled myself on Sunday working out. Could barely walk afterwards, then on Monday, again no energy to lift.

Think I will give it til next week before starting again in earnest, to be sure I am over whatever it is I have.

    Cheers all.
