Do we have any IronMen amongst us? Just curious as to the background of an Ironman and what sort training that did in the year(s) leading up to their decision to do one, and what sort of training that they did for the period before the event?

More interested in peoples experiences of the big ones, training for the shorter ones I can contemplate but a big one?? How would you even start?

Yah I did Olympic Distance Triathlon, tough enough, but not a patch on the Ironmen series.

Ironman Leans a bit too much on the cardio side of things for my liking. I'm sure you can easily find some Ironmen fan sites with training regimes.
