Allot of people believe that The wheel was the most Important invention for man,
I would like if possible to ask the MEMBERS OF THE BOARD if they share this opinion or if there is something else they believe is of higher importance.

Without a doubt it has to be the printing press, it all stems from that.

I always find it funny when people say Newton discovered Gravity... he discovered nothing... It was just something he noticed one day. It was there all the time.. he should have taken that apple and shoved it up his arse for not noticing what goes up comes back down again sooner!!

Anyway the wheel was good... Damn you and your propaganda for the wheel.. its almost Fianna Fáil tactics!!! Have to say the wheel now :D

If i had another suggestion it would be the printing press.. mentioned before... Without it there is no money, no books etc etc.... In fact all wheel did was make a society of fat lazy people (americans) as they did not have to walk anywhere any more.

    Changing the subject slightly.....
A few friends of mine where discussing what the fastest thing known to man was....
One believed it to be a wink as its instant....
This was disproved by the second who said the brain was as you have to think before you wink.....
The third said they were both wrong as light is the fasted thing know to man as when you turn on a light bulb the light is there instantly.
A drunk who was sitting at the bar informed them they were all wrong that diahorea was the fasted thing known to man....
Take the other day before he could think wink turn on a light bulb he had already **** himself

:p ! dab oot tsuj era uoy godnroh

The most important invention besides the wheel, printing press etc is perhaps the flush toilet, invented by Thomas Crapper as everybody should know. Also the clock, soap and the 'Delete' key are fairly important.

    hah ! pwnd

i find the most interseting invention is the Automatic Flush Wall Toilet

what it does is when you walk up near it, the partition tween you and the next walltoilet is actually a motion sensor, that activates the flush device as you being to piss

so the water from the flush helps you the piss quicker, and makes for a cleaner toilet as the piss is washed away from start to finish

    really clever, i thought :D

Why not check the titles of the TWO After Hours threads that guy started yesterday and then come back to me on the issue Mr. Voice of the Common Man.

No, writing allowed information to be stored accurately, thereby allowing knowledge to grow. The printing press allowed this to grow exponentially. Remember all the "best" empires have been bureaucracies.

how exactly are they going to know what to write down if they dont know what the smart geezer is saying

because in every culture, there is always going to be someone who can read.
if everything is handed down by soken word, it becomes distorted, and bits get lost and eventually you get stories, and not fact.

besides, there are many illiterate people in the world today, and yet everything is written down...

How about pennacillin, or soap. Without sterrilisation we'd all be dead by 30. If ur dead by thirty then you ill probably long before that. Less man hours alive less discovered/invented. Thus I think sanitation/soap/sterilisation or anti-bitoics or pennacillin should be up there

But without writing and books the widescale implementation of these would have been impossible.
