Mario for me, I was a nintendo kid, never had a mega drive. Also mario is still going strong and I'm enjoying his latest adventures, whereas I can't say that for sonic....

it has to be mario!!!! I was brought up on nitendo games and mario was the best platformer ever. Sonic was just an imitation that rellied on speed rather than playability. whoever heard of a hedgehog with attitude ppfff. everyone knows you dont mess with a fat italian plumber

It's got to be mario. Sonic was always playing second fiddle to him. It was mario that showed people how to do 2D and 3D games properly. Also a mario game has lots of challenge and loads of levels. I've beaten every sonic game I've played on my first go.

Mario 3 clearly took Sonic 1-4 out around the back of the shed and rammed a rake up its arse while screeching in Italian at his sink.

Plus I never liked Sonic anyway. Blue haired bastid. And the Mario cartoon was better than the Sonic cartoon. And Mario has a better name. And a better nationality. And s0nic is teh faGg£|-|.

the mario one was better actually and in the sonic one they just ate chilli dogs (maybe a metaphor for sonics homosexuality) and tails sounded like a girl....but yoshi in the mario cartoons was one of the most homosexual characters ever i hated him so much.....

It has to mario no question! It involved so much more skill y'know? With sonic it was all you get hit, you lose rings, you pick 'em up again no problem. With mario, the only way to survive in that freaky world of giant turtles and dancing cactuses, was to constantly obtain a supply of magic mushrooms. Oh the powers they gave! Bigness, extra life, and so on. Then there was that plant that let you shoot fire from your hands!
