The Revs will be playing Brysons on Thursday 26th June, setting up for an awesome weekend of music. The Revs (who played Witnness and Slane last year, and played Stormont no later than today) are playing on thursday, Manakin will be supporting Sunways on friday and the weekend is rounded off with none other than the Screamin Gypsies.

Merc, if you are coming, that is the weekend to be there!

And our name is still spelled wrong on the flyer. :P

    Fado.

I am well aware of that phado, but there is nothing that can be done. Just focus on the positives,
    (1) You are ON the flyer, and
    (2) It sn't spelt as badly as usual. The old man usually spells it "Mannequin", but he's only only one letter out this time with "Manikin".

    So cheer up!!

Please note everyone that this date is after antisocialisers reply, indicating that ironbrew realised he made an arse of himself and went back and changed his original statement to save face.

Where did u c them at. Chances are that u saw them at a much larger venue. I might also make it clear that on occasion the band plays for the door, and this happens to be such an occasion. This means that they set the price, not mr. bryson. Got a problem, take it up with them, not us.

Since when did our lovely forum become a plug for Jensens' Dope Shack?
Honestly, the nice people @ Boardsie should start demanding royalties!!

Funny that... they played in the students union in coleraine not so long ago and we paid only a fiver.....

i dont mind the price as i get paid that day... but for the other people it might be harder.....

I agree with johnny, im not dead worried about the price, just thought that it was a little extreme, anyways just thought i'd comment on one last thing:
    plus raging speedhorn are crap!!!

tis very childish comment, ever heard of the phrase "To each, his own"....Pearl jam arent that brillant in my opnion, but i can acknowledge them as talented artists and respect their following enough to keep my trap shut when its not wanted ;)

oh i ... i just want to add ... even though i get paid ... i'll still be forking out for the usual 3 litre of cider for 3 english pounds*....

    * you get used to it ... after 3 months of adding blackcurrant to the cider....student life for you

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 408 ✭✭Chada

    Entry fee to the revs:£10

3Litre bottle of cider from offy: £3

Convincing a rather intoxicated Fox to make u a northern boards mod: ........................Priceless

    :)

... i was thinking it makes better sense after saving ten english pounds all week ... of gettin the ticket (£8) ... then i would have 2 english pounds left... then ask the ol' man for a pound ... then get the cider....

Yo Axe can i reserve 3 or 4 tickets? tried to get to the pub on tuesday but it was closed :S

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 198 ✭✭Axe

Yeah, i'll keep u 4, collect them b4 the gig tho. My sister was on the net earlier when u were tryin 2 talk 2 me. My msn's on auto sign in u c.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,375 ✭✭✭Antisocialiser

Nps ill be in magherafelt tomoro b4 it ill give you a ring or watever ta m8.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 60 ✭✭dudeRancher

£10 indeed. The last time I paid £10 to get into a gig I missed Bluebird but saw Throat and Hell is for Heroes. I think these young pups are getting ideas above their station. For ten quid you could buy either,

    9 condoms,
    3 whiskeys,
    an offensive tee-shirt,
    an eigth,
    25 packets of Green Rizlas,
    admission to two Manakin gigs,
or three packets of tobacco with enough change for two bottles of coke with enough change again for a packet of Malteasers!

Is this a serious rant against extortionate prices at Brysons or intended merely for comic effect? You decide.

    :ninja:

Hey fado isnt it 3 pounds into a manakin gig or did u just up the price..... sellouts ;)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 60 ✭✭dudeRancher

    Er....

/me drops flashbang and runs, taking Antisocialisers wallet with him.

    :ninja:

Well, i think i can say without fear of contradiction from anyone who was there, that last nite had to be one of the best gigs in Brysons' history. The awesome combination of Swurve and The Revs, was brilliant, and utterly rockin. I don't think even johnny the fox could disagree (he was too pissed to remember i expect).

Yeh have to agree with you axe swurve and the revs were both excellent. The revs vocalist was an amazin singer but i was disappointed that the drummer had the same expression on his face the whole set lol. Also didnt get the feeling the revs really didnt wanna be there :S

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 198 ✭✭Axe

Yes, the drummer's expression didn't change much, tho i think that expression is permanent, he looked exactly the same in the posters and b4 and after the gig he had da same expression.

As for them not wanting to be there tho, i cannot agree with that, cos they want 2 come back, so evidently this was not so. I am personally greatly looking forward 2 their return visit.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 953 ✭✭✭superconor

    lol danny, pure played!! :D:D:D
i didnt go to the gig, having never heard a revs song
however i shall be at the gypssies and....acid wednesday isnt? should be fair craic.

Sorry ill rephrase that - i think they were disappointed at how little people came but what can u expect thursday nite and a tenner in :P

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 60 ✭✭dudeRancher

Weren't many there last night either. Sunways were pretty decent too.

Is it wrong to think of the s club juniors in a sexual way?

No. As they are not actually children but quasi humanoid robots built by IBM under the supervision of the Bush administration to facilitate a subliminal brainwashing programme via their catchy tunes, you may masturbate as furiously as you wish.

This is so not entrapment by the way...

    :D

The Revs were brilliant! best band brysons have ever seen. 'Oh yeah' springs to mind. along with 'drums'

anyway, just found out that for £10.45 you can get the new revs album off their website andf thewir old one is a measly £6.74 or someything! utterly brilliant. i will be getting those i can assure you.
