    Hey all,

Was hoping for thoughts on the below build from PCSpecialist

    Case
PCS P209 ARGB MID TOWER CASE
    Processor (CPU)
    Intel® Core™ i5 Six Core Processor i5-10600 (3.3GHz) 12MB Cache
    Motherboard
    ASUS® PRIME B460-PLUS: ATX, LGA1200, USB 3.2, SATA 6GBs - RGB Ready
    Memory (RAM)
    16GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 2400MHz (1 x 16GB)
    Graphics Card
6GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 2060 - HDMI, DP - VR Ready!
    1st Storage Drive
    512GB PCS 2.5" SSD, SATA 6 Gb (520MB/R, 450MB/W)
    DVD/BLU-RAY Drive
    NOT REQUIRED
    Power Supply
    CORSAIR 650W CV SERIES™ CV-650 POWER SUPPLY
    Power Cable
1 x 1 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead)
    Processor Cooling
    STANDARD CPU COOLER
    Thermal Paste
ARCTIC MX-4 EXTREME THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY COMPOUND

    Works out at about €1,250.

    Thanks

    2400MHz RAM? Is that intentional?

Why a SATA SSD and not an m.2 NVME one?

Is there really any need for the DVD/Blu-ray drive these days?

RAM: That was just the default one on the build, but from the drop down list they're pretty much all 2400MHz, a few 2666MHz.

Storage: Didn't see any m.2 ones on the list, but looking again I see they're under different headings. Can swap the SATA for a 512GB INTEL® 670p M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD if that's better

Disk Drive: Yeah it says not required. Sorry, I just copied most of the list directly so it was still in the list.

Core i5-10600KF is cheaper than 10600 but runs at a higher base clock & is overclockable* - would be stupid not to buy it IMHO, though you'll need another 25-37 for a better (air) cooler, too.
*ASUS Prime Z490-P is cheatest motherboard that would allow OC

NEVER buy 1x 16Gb unless you intend to replace it with a dual-channel kit yourself.
The 2x8Gb Corsair Vengeance 3200MHz is cheaper than 3000MHz; 2666 would do in a pinch if you're willing to OC yourself.

Corsair CV power supply is only just adequate; it'll be the first thing you'll replace in future.

For case, I'd spend the extra 11eur and get the PCS Spectrum RGB as it's got proper airflow.

Not really interested in overclocking. It'll always be a secondary gaming machine and won't be doing anything too hectic on the machine other than that.

Neither the motherboard nor ram show up on the list of options on PC specialist. Highest ram are all 2666MHz.

    How about this:
    Case
PCS SPECTRUM RGB MID TOWER CASE
    Processor (CPU)
    Intel® Core™ i5 Six Core Processor i5-10600KF (4.1 GHz) 12 MB Cache
    Motherboard
    ASUS® PRIME B460-PLUS: ATX, LGA1200, USB 3.2, SATA 6GBs - RGB Ready
    Memory (RAM)
    16GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 2666MHz (2 x 8GB)
    Graphics Card
6GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 2060 - HDMI, DP - VR Ready!
    1st M.2 SSD Drive
    512GB PCS PCIe M.2 SSD (2000 MB/R, 1100 MB/W)
    Power Supply
    CORSAIR 750W TXm SERIES™ SEMI-MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET
    Power Cable
1 x 1 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead)
    Processor Cooling
CoolerMaster Hyper 212 (120mm) Fan CPU Cooler Black Edition
    Thermal Paste
ARCTIC MX-4 EXTREME THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY COMPOUND

That looks more balanced for a gaming build.

B460 + i5 is restricted to 2666MHz so if staying budget, leave it at that.

Ended up clicking on something different on the site and managed to find some of the other items you recommended. Pushed the button on the below last night because if I thought about it any longer I'd talk myself out of it, and at this stage my PC is 8 years old and laptop is 5 years, so even though they both mostly work fine, said I may as well upgrade.

    Case
PCS SPECTRUM RGB MID TOWER CASE
    Processor (CPU)
    Intel® Core™ i5 Six Core Processor i5-10600KF (4.1 GHz) 12 MB Cache
    Motherboard
    ASUS® PRIME Z490-P (LGA1200, USB 3.2, CrossFireX) - ARGB Ready
    Memory (RAM)
    16GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3200MHz (2 x 8GB)
    Graphics Card
6GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1660 - HDMI, DP - GeForce GTX VR Ready!
    1st Storage Drive
    NOT REQUIRED
    1st M.2 SSD Drive
    512GB INTEL® 670p M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 3000MB/sR | 1600MB/sW)
    Power Supply
    CORSAIR 750W TXm SERIES™ SEMI-MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET
    Power Cable
1 x 1 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead)
    Processor Cooling
PCS FrostFlow 150 Series High Performance CPU Cooler
    Thermal Paste
ARCTIC MX-4 EXTREME THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY COMPOUND
    Sound Card
ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)

    Cheers for the advice
