Just because there's no yellow warning doesn't mean it will not rain heavily - just not breach warning criteria

I note that Sherkin Island recorded 5.5mm between 4-5pm.

The first chart is the projected rainfall by 20.00, the second is for accumulations up until 11.00 tomorrow, so plenty more to come overnight.

Seems that theres been a patch of light-moderate rain over North Kerry to North Clare stretching as far as limerick for the last few hours, total's are not much here in West Clare, 8.2mm so far with a rain rate of 0.8mm

Inline so far. Looks like upland parts of Waterford could do worst but no synoptic stations there. You're damed if you do and damned if you don't buy overall the warnings are doing OK

Yea, light here near Tralee atm, 12.6mm so far. Judging by the models it would seem that the heaviest rain can be expected from here on. Looks like Kerry and Clare could be heavy from about 23.00 - 02.00

The chart gives a good indication of the rain to come.

EDIT at 20.51 : Rain picking up here again.

That's showing French time I think so 7pm for here but even at that it seems to be several hours behind, been raining since mid afternoon in Donegal

Lots of heavy rain across the midlands at the moment, could be some really heavy bursts in the south overnight as the triple point passes over the south coast

Looks like heavy rain over South Kerry and West Cork.

Meanwhile it's stopped raining here in West Clare.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,061 ✭✭✭irishfeen

It is absolutely lashing rain here in N. Cork, just in from driving out from town and major amounts of water lodging on the roads already. If it continues there will probably be significant local flooding in the morning.

Some heavy rain in West Limerick earlier, it hit 14.4mm/hr at 22:00, but has dried up since.
