These counties should see some heavy snow showers through Thursday and Thursday night that could be disruptive. Significant accumulations likely even at ground level up to 5 cm there. Far more at higher elevations anything up to 15 cm's locally. Showers clearing by dawn Friday so not lasting long ahead of the next band of rain. Elsewhere lighter hail, sleet and occasionally snow showers that won't amount to much. Turning colder generally with frost in eastern counties. Lowest temperatures -1 to +3c, lowest in the east and inland in the northwest.

Snow blowing sideways and everyways here at the moment in Donegal, with the gusts. Not lying but nice to see. Very strong gusts.

Snowing in ballindine in mayo now, not sticking, had a mad hail shower earlier.

Or maybe people don't really believe there will be any snow, except on top of mountains?
