    Hi all,
We're heading to Germany in early July with our family ( 7,5,3) and have time to factor in a week or so in France. We are looking into following one or two mountain stages ( probably stage 10 or 11). has anyone done this? What are the logistics with a campervan? Should we head up the mountains the day before and just park or can we head up the morning of the stage? On the telly, you see rows of campervans parked on the side of the road, would we be better off going up the night before.
Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.
Are we being too ambitious in hoping to see two consecutive stages given the logistics involved.....
    Thanks!

It depends on the mountain. If you are thinking about la Toussuire on stage 11, better go up there 1 week before the stage or there won't be any place left. Some of the other mountains you may be able to get up the day before but really you need to think of 2 or 3 days to be sure.

Best way is to get somewhere near and cycle or walk onto the route.
