My Irish isn't the greatest but I'm so keen on learning and improving but my teacher has asked us to correct these sentences and being honest I have no idea as she is completely useless.Normally I would catch on quick but she just made a mess of explaining it all!

    1. (Scuab) agus (glan) an teach inné.

If someone could explain what I am suppose to do and give me an example or two and i will hopefully be able to get the rest right! Go raibh maith agaibh.

The saorbhriathar is used when you know an action has been done, but you don't know/say who has done it. For example, In English, "The food was bought yesterday."

The endings for the saorbhriathar are -(e)adh and -(a)íodh, depending on how many syllables are in the verb. For regular verbs you take the stem of the word from the present tense (in other words, don't use a séimhiú!) and add the ending. For example, "Cuireadh an bréagán sa bhosca inné". (The toy was put in the box yesterday.) The irregular verbs, as usual, can have exceptions in which stem to use. (e.g. "Rinneadh an jab aréir". The job was done last night.)

A good repository for finding the saorbhriathar (and other verb tenses) is An Foclóir Beag.

    Any other questions? :)

Hopefully I'll be starting to teach professionally next year! :)

Feic, Abair, Déan and Ith are all irregular verbs. The full list of Irish irregular verbs is as follows:

Abair; Beir; Clois; Déan; Faigh; Feic; Ith; Tabhair; Tar; Téigh; Bí.

Unfortunately, they include most of the verbs you'll use most often! :p
On the bright side, once you learn them you'll be flying it. :)

(Beir) Rugadh ar an ngaidí lasmuigh den bhanc.
(Clois) Chualathas na comharsana ag argóint aréir.

(Ith) Itheadh an cáca milis a d'fhág Mamaí ar an mbord.
(Tabhair) Tugadh comhairle do na daltaí roimh tús na hArdteiste.
(Tar) Thángthas chuig an féasta i mo theach anuraidh. (This one is hardly ever used, as far as I know!)

(Bí) Bhíothas (another one you'll pretty much never use in the saorbhriathar)

Just to say, though, that those are just the endings for the autonomous verb in the past tense...verbs can have autonomous forms in other tenses as well:

"Leasaítear an t-alt mar seo a leanas"

"The article is amended as follows."

"Roghnófar an t-amhrán ag deireadh an tsamhraidh"

"The song will be chosen at the end of the summer."

"D'fhógrófaí an aiste dá mbeadh an t-am againn"

"The essay would be published if we had the time."
